Don’t start something you can’t finish.
It’s a cliché, but 22-year-old graffiti artist Christian lives by those words. He’s going away when he graduates from art school in just six short months. With so little time left, getting involved with gorgeous Shea Nolan has to be a mistake. If only he could make himself stay away from the sweet, sexy police officer.
Christian has a decision to make. Are a few months of happiness worth the inevitable heartbreak when it’s time to walk away?
Against the Wall is the seventh book in Alexa Land’s best-selling Firsts and Forever series, but each book can stand alone, so jump in anywhere.
REVIEW:
I had no idea that Christian and I had so much in common until about two thirds of the way through the book. I might not have chosen to read it this week, as some of the subject matter got me pretty emotional! Definitely some teary eyed moments.
I loved this book. It was probably my favorite so far because of how the author handled the situation. No more spoilers on that part. You will have to pick up the book and read it to find out what I’m talking about!
Christian is Skye’s best friend from Skye Blue. They’ve known each other for three years, and Skye knows Christian as well as anyone does. Christian though is hiding something. We don’t know what, nor do the characters in the book. All we know is that he says he is going away after art school, so he can’t make any long term commitments.
Shea Nolan is the latest in the string of Nolan men to grace the pages of this series. Shea is a shy police officer, who first noticed Christian when he was at the station bailing out Nana and Shea after their incident with the limo, the big penis shaped object and the anti-gay protestors. Luckily Shea is about to get to meet Christian in person!
Christian is a painter. His canvases are the sides of vacant and derelict buildings throughout San Francisco, where he paints huge murals with spray paint, in the middle of the night, and without legal permission. When he is almost caught by the police one night, he escapes through a hotel, only to run into a young male prostitute named Chance. Using each other as alibis, they leave the hotel and go to a local bar for a drink. Across the bar is this hot looking guy, staring at Christian.
Shea sees Christian immediately, but what happens when he falls on his face on the dance floor while walking over to say hello?
Will Christian and Shea get together? Will they survive Nana’s continued exploits? Will there really be a big pink penis shaped wedding cake somewhere in this book?
I again loved this book. Alexa handled the issue (which I’m still not disclosing) very well, and her writing and characters are, as usual, off the chart! My favorite character, Nana is back again, and yes, she is responsible for said pink penis wedding cake! I’m off to read Belonging, book eight in the series!
If you didn’t take my advice last week and start the series, you are now SEVEN books behind, so get your butt in gear! As always, you can jump in on any book, but I recommend the entire series be read in order for continuity because there are a lot of characters that flow from book to book! Each book, and the entire series carry the highest recommendations from me!

I started with Hunter’s book and you were right. People should flock to this series. Just buy all of the books at once and save yourself the hassle. I’m currently half way through Skye’s book and I already can’t wait for Christian’s.
Adore this series, waiting with belated breath for the next
