Wanking with a mate isn’t gay—as long as you keep your hands to yourself.
Jez Fielding and James MacKenzie—Big Mac to his mates—are in their second year at uni. After partying too hard last year, they make a pact to rein themselves in. While their housemates are out drinking every weekend, Jez and Mac stay in to save cash and focus on their studies.
When Jez suggests watching some porn together, he isn’t expecting Mac to agree to it. One thing leads to another, and soon their arrangement becomes hands-on rather than hands-off. But falling for your straight friend can only end badly, unless there’s a chance he might feel the same.
REVIEW:
This book so reminded me about how open my Brit mates were when I was stationed on an RAF base in Cornwall back in the 1980’s. They thought nothing about saying they were off to have a wank. Some of them were damn hot, and I so wanted to offer a “helping hand”.
Jump forward 30 years, and we have the story of two university students in Plymouth who prove Brit men still talk pretty openly about wanking! Jez Fielding and James MacKenzie (Mac) are in their second year and both are spending a lot more time at home than they did the previous year. Both partied a lot that year. Jez ran up a huge overdraft at the bank, which his parents refused to pay off for him to teach him a lesson in handling money. Mac almost failed for the year because he neglected his studies so much. Both are now trying to fix those issues, and it means they’re thrown together a lot more, since they aren’t going out all the time.
Here they are, their four roomies go out every Friday night and leave them alone. Eventually talk turns to things that come popping up. But they both are straight! Well having a wank with someone doesn’t make you gay, correct? But Jez thinks it might mean more to him that it does to Mac. How can he ask without Mac thinking he is gay?
I really enjoyed the story of Jez and Mac. The interplay between the two as the story progresses was fun to read. I think Ms. Northcote has another winner on her hands. And have I mentioned how steamy her sex scenes are? My only complaint? I didn’t want it to end. I flew threw it in a couple hours, even taking a break half way through. But it was really good! I highly recommend you give this book a read. It will appeal to anyone who ever looked at someone and thought “what if”.
And finally, have you seen that cover shot of Mac? If I was Jez, I’d be giving him a helping hand as well!
