The Special Ops genetic experiments were designed to create super soldiers, not sex-addicted doms.
When Delano Briggs, BDSM club owner and volunteer firefighter, is called to aid in the evacuation of a burning New York hotel, he thinks it’s just another job.
But after rescuing the irresistibly sexy Chanze, he learns that behind the velvet curtains of the five-star hotel is one of the most exclusive, and immoral, prostitution rings in the country. For the men at the Cloister aren’t merely lovers for hire, but genetically enhanced sex slaves, created to provide the brothel’s rich clientele with the most insatiable doms and delicious subs.
Kept against his will by the doomsday chip implanted in his brain, Chanze sees no chance of escape. Until Delano and his three fellow super-enhanced operatives infiltrate the club for a walk on the wild side.
This story is rated “Very Hot” (5 out of 5 flames) and contains M/M pairings.
REVIEW:
The blurb for this book pinged so many of my interest points that I couldn’t even help but be through the moon excited about reading it. So, it’s no wonder that I am utterly disappointed on how this story came together. I felt no real connection to the characters at all. They read like they aren’t even real people. The rent boys are just objects, holes to be bought and used. Even the Slayers are perceived to be just weapons and nothing more. The cheesiness of some of the scenes and character interactions had me rolling my eyes several times. I just feel like this story had such huge potential but it fell flat for me, unfortunately.
Chanze was recruited off the streets to be the first male sex slave with genetic enhancements. These enhancements basically make him a raging nympho that’s submissive and loves pain during his scenes. Chanze’s scenes were a complete turn off for me. Everything seemed forced, even though he was compliant and more than willing it was apparent he wouldn’t have been if it weren’t for the enhancements. There are multiple dub-con scenarios.
Delano is the owner of a BDSM club that employs and houses his entire military team. This team was recruited by the government to get “super soldier” enhancements. Everything about their chemical makeup has been altered.
After the club Chanze works at goes up in flames, Delano’s firefighting teams are dispatched to the scene. Upon rescuing Chanze there is an immediate, visceral attraction. Come to find out these “nano enhancements that both Chanze and Delano have sometime inhibit a bond between two people. Sort of like bonded mates in a shifter world.
So Super Soldier Delano and Super Sub Prostitute essentially make a love connection on site. This whole scenario didn’t ring true to me. Throughout the story we are introduced to several people and at times it was a bombardment so it was hard to keep track of everyone. Another element that didn’t ring true was almost immediately after every introduction of a new character they would feel this bonded attraction with another character. It was hard to really feel any connection with any character because they were introduced and bonded so rapidly.
I also didn’t really enjoy the sex scenes in this book. It was completely not satisfying.
This story was a miss for me, I’m sad to say.
