REVIEW:
Well, this book was more different than I thought it would be and yet, it worked in a really different way.
Fallina Mira is a young woman who is trying to make her way in her mother’s crumbling lingerie business. She’s supposed to be the heir, yet, she’s ready for that kind of power. In fact, it’s not something that she really wants. She majored in chemistry and really wants to work on Plan B…perfume and lower priced lingerie. Fallina really just wants to be able to work with her perfumes and help take her mother’s company back up to where it should be. Fallina has finally come to the truth that she is a lesbian and that she is a submissive. Fallina’s mother comes from a conservative background and thusly thinking that same sex relations are wrong. So, Fallina is hiding a portion of herself.
Kensal…well, this woman is just something else. Kensal is a vampire bat who has been around for over a hundred years and has many degrees in order for her to make her way in the world. Kensal is actually a really good, dominant character. She’s a lesbian that lives her life in the way that she wants and does what needs to be done. I like that Kensal has no doubt of who she is and what she wants. What she wants is Fallina. Fallina is her mate and she’s going to do anything to get her. Kensal is dangerous when need be and to protect not only herself, but to protect her mate….Watch Out!!
I like that the author has set up a wonderful world in which the paranormal exists and yet, they keep to the dark. No humans know of them. The standard shifter world building that you see in other books, however, it worked in this book. There was a small bit of action at the end, yet…it was needed.
Now, I will say that the sexy times in this book were something to behold. Very hot and steamy read. I was very intrigued with Kensal’s anatomy and how she used it. Let’s just say…..Whoa Nelly!!
I will say that this story was a good, fun read for a bit on a Sunday morning. I was drawn into the story and was wondering how it would end. I was a bit let down by the abrupt ending of the story. The way everything was resolved was just…abrupt. It was over too damn quickly and that just took away from the story.
