TITLE: Make You Mine
SERIES: Rock Gods #3
AUTHOR: Ann Lister
PUBLISHER: Lulu.com
LENGTH: 387 Pages
BLURB:
Cooper Rand is the high-energy drummer for his band Ivory Tower. Everyone is drawn to Cooper; which makes him the go-to party guy for those lucky enough to call him friend. He loves the lifestyle that comes along with being a rock star and feels perfectly suited for the role. He is also a professional when it comes to the hook-up, unwilling to stick around long enough to allow emotions to enter into what he’s doing. He’s lived his entire life ‘in the moment’ and it isn’t until he meets Jayson that he begins to question the direction of his life and if he’s been missing out on something truly special all this time.
Jayson Keller has spent most of his life living on the island of Martha’s Vineyard working as a builder. Living on a small, conservative island also has Jayson working overtime to keep his sexual orientation secret. He has mastered the art of hiding in the closet, but he doesn’t want it to be a forever thing. Jayson always said if the right man came along he’d happily leave the safety of his closet and live openly as a gay man. The problem is, living where he does limits his partner options and finding someone worth coming out of that closet for seems an unlikely prospect.
A party at Alex Metcalf’s island estate brings Cooper and Jayson face-to-face. Lightning strikes hot and fast and suddenly their lives take a whole new path. Has Jayson finally met a man worth leaving his self-imposed closet? Have a couple of hours spent alone with Jayson opened Cooper to the idea there is a deeper meaning to life beyond the stage and the value of a committed relationship? But, a bigoted family and the rock star lifestyle could ruin everything and keep both men searching for what was standing right in front of them: a soul mate
REVIEW:
The third part of this series brings us to Cooper, and lets face it, what’s not to love about Cooper?! He is the funny man, the joker, the young enthusiastic, hyper, jump around drummer of the band Ivory Tower. He also is the man you want to have around to be your friend. Like the blurb says Cooper lives in the moment, lives his life to the fullest and then he meets Jayson.
Cooper isn’t really gender-specific. He likes both men and women and he doesn’t mind hooking up with any of them. But when he meets Jayson something happens, something about Jayson makes him want and wonder.
Jayson is Chase’s best friend and that’s how we met him in the previous book (Alex’s story with Chase and Danni). When Jayson found out that Chase was bi, he opened up to him and told his best friend that he’s gay, admitting that out loud to someone close to him.
When Jayson meets Cooper at a party on Alex’s estate, there is instant attraction between them and despite the warnings from Chase, Jayson goes with Cooper. Going in fully and with open eyes.
Being in the closet it doesn’t make it easier on Jayson but he cannot resist the pull he feels where Cooper is concerned. Things progress from that point on making them searching each other out and spending time together, to the point that they take hesitant but very willing steps towards more then just a one off, two off, three off….( 🙂 ). Both surpising each other and themselves on the way there.
Like with all the characters in this series, I love these two boys and as I said in the beginning what is not to love about Cooper. Jayson brings his own charisma and the two of them are pure sensuality and sexiness. Did I mention they are Hot? 😉
There is a lot of sex in this book and if that is not your thing you might find it too much. I am one of the people who like sex in a story but even I have to admit it is a lot 🙂
These two men are awesome in and out of their bed. Their chosen “family” the band and their friends are fabulous and all so worth it.
For me this series is a gem. I was so lucky to find it and to have the pleasure to enjoy reading it!
Highly recommended this book as the series.
