REVIEW:
So romantic; this book made me cry. Amando is hundreds of years old, and has held many forms before becoming an earthbound hybrid incubus. Though he is a demon, he must support his physically body by drawing life force from humans. He can gain his needed life force by touch alone, but sex gives him more lasting energy. Amando is a beauty and he knows it, as well as a professional player, but his game is thrown off when he meets Mads, a man who sucks his own life force with every kiss. Though Amando realizes the potential danger Mads poses, he discovers he is addicted to the mortal and cannot be away from him. Since Amando does not eat human food, he has to suffer through extreme indigestion in order to appear normal and conceal his demon nature. With all the hiding he must do, Amando feels like giving up on several occasions, but instead their relationship continues to build. In the end, the bond between them is so strong that when faced with mortal danger, their love for one another saves them both.
Temptation of the Incubus is written in first person in Amando’s viewpoint. I wasn’t sure what to think at first since Amando comes off as somewhat arrogant and full of himself. However, the appearance of Mads greatly humbles the hotty Amando, making him very easy to fall in love with. Mads makes Amando so good that he cannot even perform as a demon when he tries to revert to his demon ways. Though this story begins with insta-love, by the end of the book, I truly believed that they were meant for one another, and the sacrifices they make for love brought tears to my eyes. I recommend this book to readers of m/m fantasy who like immortal/magical beings and sweet romance.
