Sometimes, the road to happily ever after takes you where you least expect it.
Skye was only interested in finally losing his virginity, but he might have found much more than that. Two guys both feel so right to the twenty-one-year old art student, but maybe that means they cancel each other out. After all, if either was the one, Skye wouldn’t have feelings for both of them. Would he?
But what if he really did just meet the love of his life?
Skye Blue is the sixth book in Alexa Land’s best-selling Firsts and Forever series, but each book can also be read as a stand-alone, so jump in anywhere.
REVIEW:
This series just keeps getting better. This one kept me so entertained, that I didn’t even notice I was reading it so quickly, and it was over before it even began!
We met Skye, River the caterer’s younger brother, somewhere along the way I believe when River was catering Christopher and Kieran’s wedding, or it might have been when he was dancing in that sleazy club and got drugged! I knew this boy was going to be a mess from the get go!
This time he is back for his own story. Skye is an art student who is also attending the same school as Christopher. He is in his senior year on a four year scholarship, and isn’t really sure where he is going from there. Skye has a serious case of Attention Deficit Disorder, which plays into this entire story and provides some very funny date sequences.
While out with his friend Christian for a cocktail, his friend buys him a drink called a BFC (Big, F-word, another word for a male chicken…..I’d spell it out, but when I repost to Amazon they are such prudes!)
Anyway, the BFC comes complete with a penis shaped straw, a tiara, and enough alcohol to kill a horse. Of course when you drink something like that people notice, including the hottie walking by that Christian almost knocks over while taking a pic of Skye. After the guy mumbles something about f-ing tourists, Skye is off! A shouting match ensues, with the guy insulting Skye’s bright blue hair and then the guy goes on his way, never to be seen again…or is he?
Skye really needs to lose his virginity. His friend Zandra, a girl from school, has talked him into joining an on-line dating site with her for moral support. He has no interest in the long line of posts of abs shots, but when he accidently responds to an instant message thinking it is from Zandra, only to find out it is from a guy named Mac, whose pic is a cute dog…romance is born. Through conversations on line, he finds out Mac is only looking to chat, no meeting, no dating, no sex. He also gets a good lead on a job opening for go-go boys at an upscale club.
When Skye goes to the interview, who should be there but the hottie he had an argument with in the street. Will he get the job after making that sort of first impression?
Dare Evans is damaged. He was a promising dancer, but something terrible happened that caused him to be in constant pain and has destroyed his career. He has built walls around himself, but a certain totally annoying, but cute, little blue haired boy is getting under his skin (in a good way).
As Skye gets to know both Dare and Mac, how will he decide which is the man for him? Or will either be?
I loved this book. I think one of my favorite scenes from this book is when Skye is getting ready for a date. He strips his hair of color to re-dye it, but gets sidetracked and starts cutting his hair, then gets sidetracked and trims his sideburns, then gets sidetracked and puts shaving cream on to shave, then goes to put the dye on his hair just his new room mate screams about his pet pink mouse, then drops the dye all over himself and the bathroom. When the date shows up he looks like a Smurf with blue skin, hair that is still bleached blond, half cut, with shaving cream all over his face. Sounds like one of my days! 🙂
Nana is back again in this book with some wild scenes, and various members of the previous books breeze through as well. I can already see at least three more couples that will need their stories told, so I’m not expecting an end to the series soon!
I recommend you jump on board with this series! You will love it, guaranteed. (If not…there may be something wrong with you personally….LOL) 😉

Dam if this doesn’t look good, so good I’m going to skip (but come back to books 4&5) and read this one first. Thank you.
Well, if you do skip ahead, make sure you go back and read the others. They are all great.
This was my favorite so far. Loved them all but Skye was something else. His first date shenanigans had me laughing so hard I fell off my elliptical – really! 🙂
I think my favorite so far is #7, which is my review next Monday. #8 is also great, and I’m waiting eagerly for #9 which is releasing in late July!
Thank you Dan for this review! It put such a smile on my face while reading it! I’ve absolutely loved revisiting my boys each week as you work your way through the series!
All of these books are a great read, humour, tears, gritty and down to earth, sometimes painful to read other times laughing out loud.
I agree these books read very quickly. They are the perfect balance of humor and seriousness.
