From the lead singer of Black Ice ( Dagger) we go to the lead singer of fellow rock band Ivory Tower Alex “Zander” Metcalf, and his story
This story is a stand-alone story althought Dagger and Ryan appear is this book also (Yay).
Author Ann Lister surprises with a menage in book 2 of this series. Honestly said it isn’t my prefered reading material especially when one of the people involved is female. It took me some time to get into the story mainly because of the quite a bit of m/f action in the beginning of the book between two of the main characters from this book Danni & Chase. Where is my opinion the hotness, sexiness between Alex and Chase drips off the pages, I had to learn to like the love between Danni & Chase. I say learning to like because I completely understand this is a personal feeling.
The author mixes up the relationships quite nicely and more and more during the book and as a reader you cannot dislike any of the characters. The struggle between all three of them seem real and very well and the written and the erotic tension is almost touchable while reading their story.
I love how Ann Lister set up and built up the relationship between Alex and Chase. It felt like instant emotion so to speak. The way all three charaters grow and learn from themselves and each other in this novel is fascinating and interesting. It is beautiful to see the love that three people have for each other grow into something amazing.
Near the end of the story it was a bit harder for me. Without giving away too much, I had a really hard time with the excluding of Alex and how the story focussed on Danni and Chase. While I can understand the emotional level and need for that, I personally didn’t feel the need to read some specific, graphic scenes. Despite the well thought out and wonderful end of this book it left me with a little bit of aftertaste.
I am still very glad I picked up this series. I really like meeting the different members of the band, seeing the connections grow and the anticipation of what is too come. Author Ann Lister has a wonderful writing “voice.” The stories flow and are very comfortable to read, the characters are likable as well as understandable and lets just mention it straight forward …the sex is Hot!
On a very exciting note we get introduced to the other members of Ivory Tower and to Chase’s best friend Jayson and boy am I excited to see what is going to happen between him and the drummer of the band Cooper!
We will find out in book 3 🙂
I doubted between a 3.5 and a 4 hearts rating I am honest but because of the feeling I have with this series with the anticipation, the characters as and the writing, I decided to make it a 4
