He’d walk through fire for the doctor who once broke his heart
Six months after having his heart broken, Australian firefighter Flynn Boomer is ready to live again. As part of a firefighter exchange program, he finds himself in New York. The last person he expects to see on his first day with Ladder Co. 42 is the man whom Flynn came out for: Dr. David Ennis—who left him without a word after their first public kiss.
Flynn makes David feel more alive, more real than he’s ever felt before. But can David deal with the rest of the world knowing? Determined to deny Flynn’s existence, David fights his own feelings. But no matter how terrified he is at the thought of his secret being discovered, he can’t stay away from the Australian.
Flynn can no more deny David than he can deny breath, but the thought of living a lie with him tears him apart. Love is powerful, but will it be enough?
REVIEW:
This was a really sweet and sometimes frustrating little story. Frustrating because of David’s struggle with being honest about who he is and who he loves, his fears were all consuming to the point of controlling his life.
I have to say that I am really enjoying this Out for You series by All Romance eBooks. Usually I’m not the biggest fan of flashbacks in a story but this one did a good job of giving us a feel of the bond these two created and shared.
Flynn Boomer, an Australian firefighter is in New York participating in a firefighter exchange program. Having recently been broken up with he is looking forward to the change of pace. What he doesn’t expect is coming face to face with the doctor who broke his heart a mere 6 months ago.
Dr. David Ennis is the eldest son in a strict conservative family. He believes being gay would be unacceptable in his family. He lives a lie and in fear of losing his family if they ever found out that he was, in fact gay. What he didn’t plan on was to fall in love while he was in Australia with a firefighter. Things between the two got serious pretty quickly but David ran back to the US not being able to handle being “out” with anyone.
These two men really burned up the pages together. The moment they reunite in New York you can feel the desire and passion. While I enjoyed this story, it wasn’t my favorite of the series. It was a good, pleasant, quick read.
