BLURB:
When cynical forty-three-year-old police officer Evan Andrews finds his home broken into, he quickly learns there’s more to Beau Toliver than meets the eye. Injured and afraid, Beau mistrusts Evan and the police every bit as much as Evan mistrusts Beau. As affection slowly grows between them, Evan discovers the real threat might come from the colleagues he’s considered friends for over two decades. When the truth comes out, Evan races to save Beau’s life at the risk of his own. His actions could mean the end of his career, but he might finally realize there are more important things in life.
REVIEW:
Evan Andrews is a forty-three year old police officer who has no idea of the mystery he is already unknowingly a part of. There have been unusual things happening at the precinct that Evan doesn’t start putting together until after he comes home from work one night to find someone in his house. When Evan searches his house he finds Beau Toliver hiding out inside. Beau really has no reason to but he hopes he can trust Evan as he’s never been involved with any of the dirty cops at the police precinct.
Beau is only twenty-two years old and already he’s in trouble, a lot of trouble! Beau has gotten himself in way over his head when he steals the wrong purse from the wrong woman. Beau has loving parents and a loving sister but when he was a young impressionable teenager he became friends with the towns “bad boy”. When his friend left town several years later Beau didn’t let that stop him from pickpocketing, stealing or getting retribution any way he could.
After listening to Beau’s story Evan realises there are too many things happening that just don’t have plausible answers. He’s beside himself as he doesn’t know who to trust and the one person he thought could always trust, is the person he has to beware of. It’s during this very stressful time that Evan realises Beau is not as young and immature as he first thought, he’s not even as bad as Evan always thought he was. Evan meets Beaus parents and though they aren’t overjoyed with the age-gap between them, they also see how good Evan is for Beau.
All in all, Aiding and Abetting is a very well written, mystery/love story and proves that you are never too old to fall in love. Nora Roth has managed to not only keep you engrossed in the main story, the mystery, but she also pulls you in with the love story between Evan and Beau. I would definitely recommend this book!!

Sounds like an interesting read. Thank you for the review!
Thank you for your insightful review, as there is certainly a lot going on with this story as well as the underlying romance and intriguing mystery as well.
I know I prefer longer full length stories, but sometimes anthologies and short story collections are a wonderful why to find new authors and for authors to get feedback on the potential for the story developed into a longer version, depending on reader feedback (hint hint)
Great review. Unfortunately the blurb doesn’t really explain things well, but the review made it more clear for me. This sounds like an interesting read.
