REVIEW:
I’m going to be completely honest and say I was hesitant to read this book. Always completely gutted me and I’m still not over it. So, this being a full length novel I knew it also had the potential to rake me over the coals, emotionally. And while this book did deal with some pretty heavy, emotional topics I was really quite pleased with the story and actually rather enjoyed it.
Dylan Reeves is the epitome of a “family” man. He has a wife, who is his very best friend and 3 kids who are all growing into being productive, happy, healthy adults. His life is essentially perfect with 1 very huge imperfection. Dylan’s gay and his marriage is different than an average marriage. Aside from that he is relatively happy with his life especially considering his company that created a very successful social media network called “Secret” is on the verge being bought out by a very rich business man.
Tristan Wilder has been a tech genius for as long as he can remember. Going into business for himself early on allowed him to become a huge success in the social network world. And while he is still incredibly successful his company has hit a standstill and they need something to push them forward. This is where Secret comes into play.
The initial meeting between these two alpha males was very steamy. The attraction smolder under the surface but it was still there. The huge problem, however, is the fact that Dylan is deeply closeted. He worries about coming out and how that would ultimately affect his kids. He is powerless to stop the attraction from taking hold and doesn’t want to fight the physical pull Tristan has on him.
These men were incredibly hot together. That combined with Tristan’s unbelievable patience and care with Dylan totally made this book for me. At times I got so frustrated with Dylan but Tristan’s love and understanding was really moving.
It’s no secret that Kindle Alexander is a master when it comes to writing and this book doesn’t disappoint. There are so many things to really love in this story. I highly recommend this one!
