Lonely and miserable, A.J. Tucker lives a life of quiet desperation. When he’s chosen to assist an award-winning author booked to speak at his school, the teacher realizes the shameful secret he harbors could be revealed. And it’s one that could destroy his quiet, private life if his family and school board find out.
Logan Williams has come to this small North Carolina town for one reason only: to get revenge on the submissive who left him with little explanation. The powerful Dom plans to do whatever it takes to convince Tucker to resume the lifestyle and relationship he left behind.
When these two men come together in a powerful clash of wills, the love between them resurfaces. Ultimately they are forced to reexamine everything they thought they knew about one another and themselves.
REVIEW:
Dang, I really enjoyed this story. I knew I always was attracted to BDSM stories but I think this author actually put words to what I actually find appealing. I’m not so much into the pain aspect of BDSM, but the Power Exchange part of it, I really, really like.
I loved how open and honest Logan was with Aubrey. Their first night together Logan refused to have anything go further than talking because he wanted Aubrey to do research and to be sure of what he wanted. I think he couldn’t have opened the idea of this D/s relationship any better with Aubrey.
Considering this is such a short story we don’t get tons of background. Logan is a writer and a respected Dom for being so young. Aubrey is a college student when they meet. Aubrey’s relishing in the freedom of being away from his devout Christian grandparents who have raised him since his parent’s deaths. We know Aubrey although embraces his homosexuality and submissiveness, he’s incredibly ashamed because of his upbringing.
Early on Aubrey craves domination but he keeps Logan on his toes with his temper and bratty behavior. It’s obvious that even though Logan complains about it, he really admires the fire that Aubrey has in him.
The thing I struggled with was Aubrey’s relationship with his grandparents. He was so easy to buckle to their will, it was surprising. Aubrey seems to me to be a fighter and while he did fight, the length of the time he gave in was surprising.
Like I said, Logan was everything in this story. He was a rock, the perfect Dom. I really enjoyed this story and I think anyone that is a BDSM fan would enjoy this story.
