The genesis of a new story – or how two authors who’ve never written together come up with an idea that might possible work.
Dun dun dahhhhhhhh!
Saving the Doctor’s Heart.
RJ Scott and I revealed the cover for Saving the Doctor’s Heart this weekend, due for release in October. We’ve never written together before so we have mountains to climb, bridges to cross, and all that gubbins.
We’ve been talking around the idea for months now, but last week we met at the office (a pub between the two of us), and put ideas down on paper. I usually start at the beginning and see where the characters lead me, but this is different. We have… wait for it… A PLAN! A plan worked out over many many cups of tea and coffee.
It’s exciting working with a new partner. And terrifying at the same time. What happens if RJ doesn’t like what I write? What happens if I don’t like what she’s done with ‘my’ characters? What’s the answer to this? I have no idea. I’ll tell you next month. Hold the tissues.
RJ is an old hand at working with partners so hopefully she’ll go gently with me. I’m a delicate flower, you know.
Seriously though, it was my fanfic years since I wrote with someone else and now I’m doing it (oooh errr) with RJ Scott and Clare London (on With A Kick). I could become the James Patterson of M/M Romance. LOL.
Sue Brown and… could take over the bookshelves.
Sounds good to me!
The long distance loving is hard on all three of them, Eli, Clarke and Clarke’s wolf, who is becoming more restless as Clarke refuses to shift. When Clarke going to give into the other side of him and how will Clarke and Eli resolve the distance between their lives?
You’re two of my favorite authors so this should be fantastic! Sure hope it will be a novel. The Kick stories are good but too short.
