When Garth finally learns what François is, the question becomes can they overcome their differences or are they fated never to discover that love conquers all?
REVIEW:
Garth has been on the run from his ex-lover since he discovered evidence of him being a drug lord. He makes it as far as New Orleans before he feels safe enough to stop running. After two months of keeping his head down and living quietly Garth’s ex finds him. François finds Garth seconds away from being murdered by his ex and his two thugs. Even though he hates humans there is something about this one that gets under his skin. François doesn’t want Garth to know he’s keeping tabs on him so he does it from the shadows.
Everything is incredibly antagonistic between François and Garth, they’re both attracted to each other but they don’t particularly like each other! François is a vampire who doesn’t know how to reveal the truth to Garth, the last time he revealed himself to a human he couldn’t run away fast enough! François has been hurt too many times to deliberately put himself on the path to heartache. Things don’t go well when he finally plucks up the courage and tells Garth the truth about himself. It takes the only human friend he has, Joel, who happens to be the boyfriend of Master Vampire Vasile, to set things back on the right path.
This was an enjoyable short story but there was no sex! I was looking forward to some hot vampire sex scenes and there wasn’t any.
