REVIEW:
This is a review of Book Two in the Blind Faith series. I would highly recommend they be read in order for continuity and background. Trust me, you don’t want to miss Book One, that I reviewed last week!
In this second installment of the Blind Faith series, we are again back with Carter Reece and Isaac Brannigan, who we came to love in the first book in the series. They have now been together about a year, and Carter still hasn’t moved in even though he has brought it up repeatedly! Isaac is resistant to change for some reason.
Isaac is attacked one evening when he gets home by an unknown assailant who pushes him to the floor as he opens his front door, threatens him and then goes through the house, stealing any easily transported/easily pawned goods. Once Carter gets there and finds Isaac with the police and fingerprint dust all over the house, Isaac pretends he is OK, but Carter can tell he isn’t. As a personal aside, our house was broken into a few years ago, and the police did the fingerprint dust everywhere. I truly felt for Carter while he was cleaning it up! That crap gets into everything and doesn’t clean up easy!
Something good does come from the incident though. Following the robbery, Carter and Hannah spring into action and with their combined urging, Isaac finally allows Carter to move in. It turns out he had another secret fear about Carter moving in, which they are able to allay.
But just when things get good and they take their relationship to the next level, a mysterious coworker appears. Who is this Joshua guy that has come sniffing around after Isaac? He works with Isaac and Isaac thinks he is wonderful. But if so, why does he sneer at Carter while he is talking nice to Isaac. Not only Carter is suspicious, but Isaac won’t hear anything about it. As Joshua’s influence on Isaac continues to grow, it begins to cause problems for the guys. They go through some real life relationship type issues in this one. Relationships have their ups and downs. Will the guys get theirs back up once it goes down? Or will Joshua be there to swoop in and pick up the pieces?
I really enjoyed this book. Like last week’s reviewed book, I’ve read it multiple times! To be totally honest, I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by N.R. Walker that I didn’t love. For some strange reason this series had never been reviewed on our blog, so to fix that, I’m running it in my Flashback Friday lineup. I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. Stay tuned next week for my review of book three in the series, Blindside: Mark’s Story!
