Richard, Luke, and Matthew return in this sequel to MORE, a Rainbow Award winner for Best Gay Contemporary Romance.
Investment manager and always-in-control Richard Marshall has just landed a historic estate he’s waited years to acquire. Gone a lot for his work, he’s seriously craving his men. Yet it’s more than just the sex he’s missing. Emotionally-traumatized Luke is still dealing with the aftereffects of his father’s attempt to kill him, and Matthew’s trying to find his way as part of a menage relationship.
When Luke and Matthew come clean with Richard about what they’ve been feeling, he knows there’s only one way to solve all his problems: keep them close by accepting their help to investigate why someone wants to destroy the mansion he’s trying to save. When it becomes clear he’s put his family in danger, Richard has to choose between giving up control and pushing away the men he loves right when they’ve started to heal and have rekindled the explosive chemistry that brought them all together.
A menage relationship is hard enough. Add in danger, intrigue, a haunted mansion, and three sexually frustrated men, and it’s not a typical love story. It’s much more.
This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and an all-male menage relationship.
REVIEW:
I was so excited to read the sequel to More and when it came up for review…I was ON IT!!
This book is different for me as it is told from Richard’s POV and it’s interesting to really get to see how he views his relationship with Luke and Matthew. I really liked seeing things through his eyes. The first book was through Luke’s POV and it was nice to see how Richard viewed his relationship with Luke and Matthew.
This book starts with Richard wanting this estate and the owner was really horrible to him. You get to see Richard as a young man with drive and ambition. I liked that the book shows how hard he worked to finally get his hands on this estate. The hope and dreams that he has for this place is really quite nice and I enjoyed seeing him so wanting to make the estate come back to life.
The mystery/suspense portion of this story was really well written and kept me intrigued the entire time. To find out that this place is “haunted” and that people are willing to hurt and kill for an object that you don’t figure out until almost the end of the story. I liked that you couldn’t see who was bad right away. I really liked that I had to work, i.e. read and try to put the clues together. It truly was a great and pleasurable read.
Now, there is some sex involved in this story…I mean….HELLO…3 HOT MENZ going at it?!?! OH HELL YEAH!!! Sorry, there were some good sexy times involved in this story. It was nice to see that these guys had an agreement that no penetrative sex could happen unless all three of them were together. That allows them to all be able to enjoy as a partnership. I liked that they could do other things, just not that. I will say that it wasn’t just about getting off, these guys were in a committed relationship and they showed their continuing and growing love for each other that way.
I liked that we were able to see the growth in both Luke and Matthew. I like that Luke really stood up and showed that he was really committed to being with them. How he had grown enough to actually go and see his father in prison and stand up for himself. I liked that Matthew, so sweet and young and totally endearing to me, trying to find his place in this relationship. To ask for what he wanted and needed. I still just have the sweetest baby crush on Matthew as I want to hold him in my arms and just take care of him. Sigh.
I will say that the one part of this that got on my nerves was the fact that Richard was a bit whiny and controlling regarding giving his guys information. I get that he wanted to keep them safe and for him to not fail them, but his evasions…just kept getting on my nerves, Lawd Hav’ Mercy!!
Overall, this was a really good story. It had a wonderful mystery that needed to be solved and we got to see our guys grow and face new challenges and come out the other side, stronger than before. You don’t have to have read the first book, however, I will say that it would be help to understand the dynamics and how these guys first got together. You won’t be disappointed in this latest addition to the More series. I want Matthew’s book next, please!!!
