SERIES: Home #7
AUTHOR: Cardeno C.
PUBLISHER: The Romance Authors, LLC
LENGTH: 288 pages
BLURB:
When Eli Block steps into his parents’ living room and sees his childhood crush sitting on the couch, he starts a shameless campaign to seduce the young rabbi. Unfortunately, Seth Cohen barely remembers Eli and he resolutely shuts down all his advances. As a tenuous and then binding friendship forms between the two men, Eli must find a way to move past his unrequited love while still keeping his best friend in his life. Not an easy feat when the same person occupies both roles.
Professional, proper Seth is shocked by Eli’s brashness, overt sexuality, and easy defiance of societal norms. But he’s also drawn to the happy, funny, light-filled man. As their friendship deepens over the years, Seth watches Eli mature into a man he admires and respects. When Seth finds himself longing for what Eli had so easily offered, he has to decide whether he’s willing to veer from his safe life-plan to build a future with Eli.
REVIEW:
Walk With Me is about Eli Block, an eighteen year old Jewish man, completely obsessed with twenty-seven year old Rabbi Seth Cohen. Eli first met Seth at camp and developed an intense crush but Seth barely remembers Eli because he was nine years older. None of this deters Eli, he’s determined Seth will be his! What he doesn’t realise is that Seth has only ever had three relationships in his life and they were all with women! Seth is totally captivated and unnerved by Eli, he’s never had anyone so determined to show him how much they want him. Nothing can happen between them because Eli is a very young and immature eighteen and he’s his boss’s son! He tells Eli he has a lot of growing up to do and he’s only just started college.
Eli begins his campaign to get Seth to notice him but what he slowly realises is that he is just driving Seth away. It’s when he sits down and evaluates his actions and Seth’s reactions that he devises his new plan of attack! Seth finally starts to see Eli as a friend who soon becomes one of the only people he can talk to about everything and anything.
Seth comes to the realisation that he is in love with Eli but what he’s not sure of is whether he can give up his dreams of a wife and a family. So he sets out to find out if he can have a forever relationship with a man, he goes out on a few dates with men whilst in LA visiting his family. Over the years when Eli comes home on break from college Seth comes to rely on him for his help with the rituals that make up the life of a Rabbi, especially the weddings!
Eli never takes his eye off his ‘prize’, he goes to college, he dates other students and intellectually he knows Seth is straight so he stops coming onto him every time he sees him, but in his heart he will always love Seth. It isn’t until he’s home from college, house sitting for Seth that Eli learns about Seth’s experimentation several years before and he’s devastated. This is turning point in their relationship and they have to work at being together in all aspects of life.
This book finishes the Home Series by Cardeno C and I must say that I have loved every word in all seven books of this series! I normally don’t ever read books written in the first person but I didn’t really notice them in this series they are that well written. Throughout every book you are always kept abreast of what everyone from previous books are doing and that’s what makes a fantastic series in my eyes! If you want a series of stories that interact with each other then grab yourself a copy of The Home Series Collection by Cardeno C, you will not be disappointed!!
