Can you tell us something about Freeing his Mercenary?
What to say, what to say? Oh, when it came time to write the ending for Freeing His Mercenary, the way I wanted it to go was different from how it ended. I had in my head this great relationship between everybody, then when it came time to write it, Christian was like oh hell no. Everything was fine and dandy until he said that. I’m sure at the end of the book everyone will know where I’m going with the next book.
The synopsis says clearly that Freeing His Mercenary is a continuation from Taming his Mercenary, why did you choose to finish Taming his Mercenary where you did and to continue in a seperate book?
When I was writing Taming His Mercenary, I knew where I was going with it, then as I was getting to the end, I kept asking myself, “are you sure this is the way you want to go?” Then I found myself putting the ending that way and I was like I can work with this. Because the story had taken a total different turn in my head. So as I had it set one way, it would have through everybody for a loop if I just started adding people out of the blue.
Do we also see the characters from the first book in this new release or is that book more a stand alone?
Yes, though they aren’t in it as heavily as they were in Taming his Mercenary.
Why Mercenary’s ?
Why not Mercenaries? They sound so sexy. Men who can handle their own, who just has this air of bad assness. That is swoon worthy. Then they are fighting a good fight and not the crooked kind.
In your Bio it says you were in the military do you work your experiences in to your books?
I think the only real thing from my military training that came out in the books was the hand to hand combat. That’s some serious buisness. I was petrufied when it was my turn. I didn’t to be paired with someone bigger than me and I also didn’t want to loose. Though now that I think about it I should have add the qtip fight we had. They weren’t qtips but they looked like big red and blue qtips.
How do you like to spend a free day ? or a day of doing only stuff you really like to do ?
I have three kids, so I spend my day with them. I also like to play computer games. Mainly time management and cooking games. Though I don’t like to cook all that much.
Are there any more books coming in this series or are you working on something else you want to share?
There will be one more book in the series. Killian has to get his story. I always knew he would be the last one and his story will put all the questions to rest. I hope at least. Though when I started thinking about his book when I was writing Taming His Mercenary, it has changed drastically in my mind. So I’m excited to see where it goes.
Elliot wanted to throw something at Christian’s head. Damn he didn’t know how Rick could put up with him. He slammed the door on those thoughts because all it would do was remind him that Rick didn’t like him like that.
“How long do I need to stay at your place?” He asked instead of acting out his thoughts.
“Until we find Logan and your daughter. I thought you were gay.”
He wondered how long it would take for Christian to get around to that question. “I’m bi actually, but I prefer to be with men. Much to Laci’s mother’s dismay.” Grabbing the suitcase off the bed, he moved to stand in front of Christian. “I’m ready to go.”
He followed behind Christian and no matter how hard he tried not to, his eyes wandered down to look at the man’s ass. He liked men after all and he had to not have a pulse for him not to find Christian attractive.
“I’ll follow you there.” He said when they moved towards Christian’s truck.
“We’re taking my truck.” Christian stated as he opened the passenger side door.
“Why? Will I be a prisoner there?”
“No nothing like that, but Logan knows your car and he can trace it.”
“I’m sure he knows your truck as well.” He stated not wanting to be confined to close quarters with him.
“But I have ways around that. Now get in.”
Yes, strangling him sounded good right about now. Putting his stuff in the truck, he got in with a huff. He didn’t care if he was acting like a child. Christian closed the door behind him and went to the driver side.
“Have you told Rick that you two were in a relationship?” He didn’t know why he asked that question, but for some odd reason he wanted to know the answer.
Christian threw him a side long glance then put the truck in drive. He thought he wouldn’t answer, but when they pulled out of his driveway Christian took a deep breath.
“No he doesn’t know. The doctor told me it’s a high chance he won’t get his memory back.”
“Oh. I’m sorry to hear that.”
“I thought you would be happy about that.”
“Why the hell would I be happy about that? Before we even hooked up, Rick told me he was in love with his best friend. I see that you finally got your head out of your ass and told him you felt the same way about him.”
Yes, he was upset that he’d been played, but he saw the way Rick looked when he talked about Christian. He wanted someone to look at him that way and would never intentionally get in the way of that.
“I didn’t tell him.”
“Why the hell not?”
“Because he was fucking kidnapped, then put in the hospital and when he woke up he didn’t fucking remember me.” Christian gritted out.
Well damn. What did he say to that? He didn’t know.
“Look I’m-“
“Don’t.” Christian said cutting off his apology.
They drove the rest of the way in silence. When Christian put his truck in park Elliot grabbed his bag from the back seat and went to stand in front of the truck to wait for Christian. He figured he needed a moment to himself. It had to hurt like a bitch for the man you love to wake up and not remember you. When Christian got out of the truck, they walked to house and entered.
“Good you’re here. Rick has been asking about you.” Killian said to Christian as they walked towards the kitchen.
“I’m leaving now. Elliot tell Killian what you know about your daughter and we will go from there.”
Elliot watched as Christian left the kitchen to leave.
“I don’t know what you have to do with all of this, but if you hurt him or Rick again, I will personally kill you myself.”
Elliot turned at Killian’s threatening words. He had no doubt the big bad mercenary would keep his promise. “Like I told Christian earlier, I had nothing to do with this and Rick knew that before he was taken.”
Killian glared at him for a moment more then took a seat at the table. “Okay, let’s get started.”
