Nothing in Toby’s life has been by his own choice since the moment Denzel ripped him from his mother’s womb. Now that Denzel is dead and Eydan is in charge, nothing has changed. All he has ever wanted has been to find his mate and have a place to call home, but fate has set his path in a different direction.
Visions have shown Toby what he must do to stop the war, but they have also revealed a truth that he has kept from everyone, especially his mate. He wants to be held, to experience the touch of his mate’s skin and the softness of his lips just once before giving in to his destiny. While Toby is the only person who can end the shadowkin plague that threatens Preter, to do so, he must sacrifice it all…
REVIEW: This is the final book in the Preternatural Rescue Centre series and in Sacrificing It All we finally get Raziel and Toby’s story. I have been waiting for quite some time for them to come together but I have enjoyed the wait. Raziel, an angel, has waited a long time to get his mate in his arms but unfortunately for him, the timing was never right. He had been warned that he would have to wait for his other half but he didn’t know the depth of the pain they would both suffer before they could come together. After almost finding Toby the last time, Raziel is worried that he may never get to his mate in time. The only way that he knows Toby is alive is due to a psychic connection they share. Toby, who is half vampire and shadow elf, has been held captive by the shadowkin since he was born. He was kidnapped from his mother’s womb by the old leader Denzel and even though he is dead, he is still being kept by the new leader Eydan. Even though they are stuck in what seems like a hopeless situation they are committed to never losing hope in finding each other. That hope pays off when they rescue Toby with help from a unlikey source. But when a discovery is made with Toby’s blood and secrets they both share are brought to light they become unsure if what they have is just a moment in time. The destinies they both had been told about are coming to pass and as they close in on the final battle, it seems what little happiness they gained will now be lost for good.
I am quite sad that this series is coming to an end but I truly hope the author comes up with a kick ass series to take its place. I have read each book in this series and I do not recommend they be read as a standalone. Each book flows into each other and the characters pop up in each story. The storyline is very detailed and each character is described excellently. But I have been waiting for Raziel’s story since the very beginning. Toby suffered a great deal in the short life that he has had. He was stolen from his mother’s womb and infected with the plague of shadowkin. Toby had been beaten, tortured, and many other things but with the discovery of his mate Raziel he began to have something to live for. I rooted every time it seemed they got close to finding Toby and raged when they didn’t bring him home. But it all changed in this story. I adored Toby. It was so interesting to see the differences in Toby from when he was captured and then freed. He remained true to his purpose even when it threatened his mating. Despite everything he had been in he remained a gentle soul. Raziel was an absolute favorite of mine. He was always there helping along in the other stories even though you knew he wanted his mate. When they found each other you could just feel how much they loved each other and how that loved helped them to bond even though they hadn’t met in person yet. It is true when they say you save the best for last. If you truly love paranormals stories filled with shifters, great plots, action, and of course love, you do not want to miss this great series.
