REVIEW:
In True as an Arrow, we get to see a couple after they each found their happy ever after in each other. Hunter and Kyle have been together for some time and they do love each other. But as with most couples they end up in a routine. Hunter travels for work and Kyle waits at home for him. When Hunter would come home, Kyle would have dinner ready, shower on, and the bed ready for him. They are happy in their lives but everything is predictable right? Hunter leaves on yet another business trip and after waking up in the middle of the night decides to surf for some porn to help him sleep. He discovers a bdsm site and unwittingly signs himself in as a submissive. He meets a Dom named Sir T and after a powerful session he awakens a side of himself that he didn’t know existed. It makes him think of Kyle all the more since he envisions Kyle giving the order. After the first internet session with Sir T, it livens up their bedroom play to a whole new level. Kyle is surprised but pleased at this new hungry side to Hunter and revels in the extra affection. After a couple more trips and a few more sessions with Sir T, Hunter decides to go home and tell Kyle everything. But Kyle has a secret of his own and when the two decide to share it all, thing become explosive and the couple delves into a new facet of their relationship.
This was a good story and is stand alone. You don’t need to know any of their past history and it’s easy to just jump right in. Hunter and Kyle obviously love each other very much. The relationship they have is very secure. In the beginning I don’t think they thought about changing anything in their relationship. They each had their role to fill and it pleased them. Kyle was very energetic, sweet, the ultimate caretaker. Hunter would come home, dinner would be ready, his favorite sweats laid out, and the bed turned down. Hunter though wasn’t a jerk about it. He was the typical guy who had a good job, fit and strong. He always listened to what Kyle had to say, and was very appreciative about all Kyle did for him. The exploration into Hunter ultimately embracing that he liked to submit added some fun into the story. Just because Hunter was a big and fit man, it didn’t mean that he couldn’t take on the submissive role. It puts a twist on some preconceived notions with Dominants and submissives. It was interesting to see how he came to terms with it and how it changed the relationship into something more. I know that the love the originally had was even stronger in the end. The sex wasn’t too excessive and the love was evident in every scene. If you are looking for something sweet with a kick of heat in it, this is the book for you.
