SERIES REVIEW: Bound and Bonded
AUTHOR: Lisa Oliver
PUBLISHER: Self Published
BOOK ONE TITLE: Don’t Touch
LENGTH: 97 pages
BLURB:
Submissive wolf shifter Levi has met his mate, the one he wants to call Master. The problem is the Master concerned wants him for nothing more than a regular Saturday night scene and thanks to the rules the man has put in place there is nothing Levi can do about it.
Thanks to the war Steel is a damaged wolf. He knows Levi is his mate and wants nothing more than to claim him. But to do that means spilling more secrets than Steel has ever been willing to share with anyone. Does he have it in him to tell Levi what is going on, or should he release him to another Master at the club?
Two men who want each other – rules and secrets standing in their way.
REVIEW:
Oh yes, BDSM and werewolves. Right up my alley!
Levi is a submissive wolf shifter, who has recently found his mate. Unfortunately his mate Steel, has some issues and won’t commit to Levi, either as his Master or his mate. Levi is left with nothing but Saturday evenings spent in a room in the pack BDSM club, submitting to Steel for a brief amount of time before Steel leaves him. This goes on for two months before it reaches a breaking point and Steel is forced to confront his issues and Levi head on.
This is a short story, at only 97 pages, and there isn’t a whole lot of plot. So I’ll stop with my description there…. We get just a bit of Steel’s background, enough to know why he has issues, and almost nothing of Levi’s story. There is some good drama with another wolf that I liked quite a bit. This is really BDSM between men that happen to be werewolves, we don’t even see them shift, except for a partial shift for Steel. Other than some biting to form the mate bond, you wouldn’t even know they were shifters. The sex is hot and naughty, the BDSM is well done, and the drama is good.
I liked this story, but the writing was off somehow. There were some formatting issues that may be the result of my converting it to Kindle format, but sometimes the writing was stilted, or short, or something. I’m not really sure. This is one of those times that I can like the characters and the story, not like the writing, but still like the book. It’s short and hot, yes, I would have liked a few more pages to get some more depth to the characters and story, but it was ok for what it was. It’s more about the sex and the bond that forms between Steel and Levi.
I’m curious to read the next books!

BOOK TWO TITLE: Topping the Dom
LENGTH: 109 pages
BLURB:
Pearson, Alpha of the Bound and Bonded Pack, had always wanted to find his mate. But as an Alpha he had always assumed the man he would be paired with would be a submissive. But when Dante appears in his office hoping to be accepted into the pack, he is anything but the submissive Pearson had believed was his Fated lover.
Dante has a past of his own, and while he didn’t try to hide it from his Fated Mate, he should have known it was going to cause problems. If Dante’s pride didn’t stop this mating from happening, then events outside of the Bound and Bonded pack just might. Getting the promise of a HEA was going to be a lot more difficult for these two men, than it should have been.
REVIEW:
Yes! Two Alphas mating, that works for me!
Continuing the story of the Bound and Bonded pack, this time we get Pearson, the Alpha, as he finds his mate. He meets his mate as he is interviewing six new potential pack/club members, not knowing which of the six is his mate. Happily it’s the one he wanted, tall, dark, handsome and an alpha as well. Not a pack Alpha, but with an alpha personality. Pearson may be a Dom, and like to beat a twinky ass, but what he really wants in a mate is a true match. Unfortunately he makes a dick move and chases off his mate.
Dante had some issues in his home pack and was forced to leave. He ends up in Pearson’s territory, discovering a gay pack with a serious tendency toward BDSM. This seems like a great opportunity, and Dante applies for membership. The problem is he is out of money, living in a dump and has baggage. He’s happy to find his mate, but then Pearson betrays their tentative relationship and Dante, the proud man that he is, leaves. Steel and Levi from the last book step up and help sort things out.
So my complaint about the first book being short and shallow, is not true with this book! It’s a bit longer and has waaaay more plot and depth. Dante has drama in his past that comes out, and there is an interloper in the Bound and Bonded pack that causes some serious drama. Much more plot and drama, and less sex in this one. I liked it much better. The writing is improved as well, still not great but definitely better. I almost feel like there needs to be a good run through with a red pen by an editor to clean up a few issues. I saw a few repeated words and such. Not enough to pull me out of the story, but it could be better.
I really liked Pearson and Dante, I liked the building sexual tension between them, then the explosive release when it comes. And comes again! I liked that they were both alpha, and I liked that they both topped. They have a great connection, and the building drama around them added nicely to their story. Well done!
On to the next book.

BOOK THREE TITLE: Total Submision
LENGTH: 127 pages
BLURB:
Kyle, one of the head enforcers of the Washington Pack, wants nothing more than to find the evidence he needs to convince his Alpha that the man he is following is gay, so he can head back home. Being in Iowa is
doing his head in. But a fleeting encounter in a gay nightclub, has Kyle rethinking his priorities because out of nowhere, he had scented his true mate.
Teric is a cat-shifter with a job to do and more than a few secrets of his own. Scenting Kyle at a nightclub is the last thing he needed, but Fate intervenes.
When the two men meet, secrets come out and for the safety of his pack, Kyle has to let Teric do his job. But what happened to the total submission he had spent his life dreaming about?
REVIEW:
Kitty shifter! Awesome…
This installment in the ongoing saga of the Bound and bonded pack we have Kyle, a wolf shifter and enforcer, and Teric, a big lovely cat shifter. Kyle is deeply involved in the drama of the homophobic psycho that is after their pack, and Teric is sent in by the shifter council to help. Kyle is a Dominant, Teric is neither a Dom nor a sub. He’s an assassin… We get glimpses of Pearson and Dante, as well as Steel and Levi, I like to see that in series.
The plot around the relationship of these two is quite good in this book, dramatic like the last one, but with more action and a good fight scene. There was virtually no BDSM in this one however, I missed that a bit. I liked the interaction between Teric and Kyle as they are sorting themselves out, and I liked the drama having a cat shifter in a wolf pack created. The sex between them is good, as it has been in all three books, I just wish we’d seen a little more BDSM. The writing seems better as well, I can almost see Lisa Oliver improving book to book.
There was an additional storyline involving a pain-in-the-ass character that I hope is resolved at some point, it wasn’t in this
book and going by the description of the next book, poor Will isn’t getting his own story then either! But the bigger pain-in-the-ass Ace seems to be!
Now for book four!

OVERALL RATING:
I really enjoyed this series! They weren’t perfect books, but I liked them even with some editing issues. I liked the characters and the setting, a little more BDSM would have been nice, but overall they were very creative. I’m happy to have found these and I’ll keep reading the series!
Thank you for your reviews Vicki – I keep trying to improve with every book 🙂
You are! I really did like all of them, and I am looking forward to more.
