Author Name: Thianna D (Thianna Durston)
Thianna loves to write strong stories with even stronger heroes. While all of her books have an erotic overtone, it is the story that is the most important to her. “The story should be able to stand on its own. The erotic elements are an add-on.”
She enjoys writing about couples with kink, paranormal couples, and straight out strangeness. But more on that later… mm.thiannad.com.

For Christian Darringer, life isn’t worth living. Just back from the Middle East; scarred and with permanent damage to one leg, he does not think anyone will want him for anything. Meeting a gorgeous man he finds himself thinking about constantly is not in his plans. Pulled toward the startling younger man with striking blue eyes, he begins to question a lot of things – especially his sexuality. Not one to hide from a challenge, he plunges ahead only to find himself more than just attracted to Logan who is full of life and joy, he finds himself head over heels in love. Logan Mannette has almost everything he ever wanted: loving parents, happiness, friends and security. The only thing missing is finding the love of his life, a love that is just like his parents’. When he meets Christian at a party, everything changes. Instantly attracted, he does his best to help this sad man and quickly finds himself feeling more than he has ever felt before. Raised in a domestic discipline household, he holds that ideal as what he wants but his interest in spanking became a fetish and when Christian admits that he wants to be spanked, Logan believes he might have found the perfect man. Just as everything begins for them, Christian’s past intercedes and one of his brothers makes waves about him dating a man. If it weren’t for Logan’s support, he might fold; but with the love of one amazing man, Christian finds that living his life rather than just existing is as natural as breathing.

What was your inspiration for As Natural as Breathing?
You know, it started on a whim. There was a request from a site for Christmas m/m stories. Short ones. By the time I was done with chapter 3, I knew this wasn’t going to be a short story and that it was going to move beyond being a holiday story. Logan and Christian leapt out of the pages and grabbed hold of me.
What was your favorite part about writing this book? Your least favorite?
My favorite part had to be writing a character who grew up in a family who lived domestic discipline so he had no issues with it. I’ve had mixed responses from fans on the subject, but to me, that’s how Logan turned out to be the man he is – brought up in a strong, loving household where discipline was a way of life. My least favorite? I’m not sure I had a least favorite. This book pretty much wrote itself and I went along for the ride.
It looks like this is the beginning of a series, what do you have planned for future books?
This was written as the first in a trilogy and all three books are now out. But, two more characters have risen from it and I am now writing two separate books, one about a character we meet in book 3, Breathe Each Other In, and the other about a man who was friends with Christian’s family. Neither will be discipline based as far as I can tell. Both are M/M romance.
When was the last time you were in a library? Did you check out a book?
I can’t not check out a book when I’m in a library. It’s a compulsion. Well, at least not a good library. The town I currently live in has a pitiful library so I haven’t been there in a long while. However, when I’ve been in larger cities, I’ve spent every weekend at the library and come home with at least three books each time. I guess I could change the question to ‘When was the last time you were in a book store? Did you buy a book?’ Last week and err, guilty. 😀
Can you tell us what you having out next?
In August, I have a Corbin’s Bend book coming out. It’s the first full-length M/M book in the series. I’m very excited for A Good Family Man. You’ll meet one of my main characters, Jack Carmichael, in Safe Under Protection by Holla Dean, Book Two of Season Three. He was only a secondary character in her story, but he leapt out at me and I just had to tell his story.

A Good Family Man
Length: Novella
Genre: DD/Spanking Romance
Series: Corbin’s Bend
Jack Carmichael’s natural instinct is to take care of people. In his job as a U.S. Marshal, he has done that for 25 years. Unfortunately, being married to his job has left his love life in tatters. Now classified unfit for duty, he retires and comes home to Colorado to figure things out. Dominant and used to taking control like his brother Brent, he has never been interested in spanking. Until a cute Nurse Practitioner catches his attention.
Josh Martin feels lucky. He’s not only accepted into Corbin’s Bend, but he’ll be working at the brand new Corbin’s Bend Medical Clinic as its only Nurse Practitioner. At thirty-two, he figures this is his last-ditch attempt at finding a dominant partner who isn’t abusive. He finds more than his share of dominant men in Corbin’s Bend, not the least of which are the Carmichael brothers. Brent’s dominance is both comforting and unnerving, Jack’s turns him on.
Josh is unlike any submissive male Jack has encountered and when the younger man asks him out, he decides to give it a go. One day of fun turns into two, three…until Jack, with more failed relationships than he can count in his past and unsure he can be the head of house Josh needs, leaves, burying himself once again in work. Forced to see the error of his decision, he puts aside the worries that have plagued him for months and returns to Corbin’s Bend. To become the good family man he wants to be, he has to earn back Josh’s trust and truly take on a role he’s never considered before: head of a loving discipline household.
Dinner was easy, the easiest first date Christian had ever been on. Logan laughed, talked, teased, but it felt like he was with a friend rather than with a date…but then again, that was what he asked for. After two large platters of sushi disappeared between the two of them, they paid and left. “Okay, we can drive or we can walk. The theater is only ten blocks.” Then Logan’s eyes dropped to his leg. “Damn, I forgot about your leg. Maybe we should drive.”
Shaking his head, Christian placed a hand on his arm. “Naw. I walk by the river all the time. I think I’d like to walk.”
Logan watched him, as if trying to make up his mind if Christian meant it or not. When he figured he did, he beamed. “Great. There is this cool piece of art you have got to see.”
