This is a Series Review of Men’s League Series (Books 1 – 3)
AUTHOR: Kelex
PUBLISHER: Twisted E-Publishing, LLC
SERIES REVIEW:
These three books were my introduction to the author writing as Kelex. According to the “About the Author” section, “Kelex is the pen name of a multi-published romance author whose inner demons decided to take a field trip into something much, much darker.” I’m really, really glad those demons were there, because I’m liking what I’m reading!
In this series we are introduced to an Arena Football League team and some of its players, as well as the team owner and some of his friends. There is nothing vanilla about these hot football players and their men. There is some sizzling sex, but there is also some story line. I thought it was a well-balanced blend, particularly by the time we got to book three.
Sadly, the author tells me the series is complete for now. I would soooo like to see more of these men and really hope for a revisit sometime in the future! I’m also going to get some other Kelex books to review ASAP! If you are into BDSM and some Dom/Sub action without it getting really heavy, this series is for you. Big submissive football players? I don’t know much about Arena Football, but I’m a Patriot’s fan, so Julian Edelman and Gronk were running around naked in my mind while I was reading this series! Not by far a bad visual. 😉
I loved all three books, and highly recommend you give this author a try. This is also the first time we’ve reviewed the author at Love Bytes, so the author may be new to some of our readers as well. Take a risk…I’m pretty sure you’ll like them as much as I did!

TITLE: Huddle (Men’s League #1)
LENGTH: 66 Pages
BLURB:
Arrogant quarterback Aiden Summers thinks he’s God’s gift to football. When he’s not drafted, he and the country are shocked, but his cocky attitude barely wavers. Another offer to play ball, in a lesser league, is the best he can find to get paid to play—at least until the next season of big league ball inevitably comes knocking.
Arena football team owner Bailey Thompson is retired from the big game himself, but the love of play kept him inside the business. He sees undrafted college player Aiden Summers as just what his fledgling team needs to sell more seats and raise the profile of the league itself.
When the controlled Bailey meets with cocky Aiden, Bailey immediately knows the younger man needs a little dose of humility and where better to learn that on his knees, with the taste of the crop coming down on his flesh? Aiden’s not gay, but he can’t ignore the desire the rough caresses ignite, regardless if they’re from another man or not.
Can Bailey get Aiden to understand humility and service before it’s too late?
REVIEW:
BDSM erotica involving an arrogant college quarterback? Yes please!
Aiden Summers goes beyond arrogance. I really thought he was a total asshole at first. He is a typical, “I’m a God” total jerk football quarterback. No one has ever told him no. Then he blows up at an event meant to showcase young football stars for the draft. When his arrogant diatribe hits every social media known to mankind, his chances of getting drafted by a NFL team plummet to less than zero.
Undrafted, he goes home to live with his grandmother, who wasn’t that keen on football anyway from the impression we’re given of her. When Bailey Thompson, a retired NFL player shows up at Aiden’s door with a business proposal, Aiden is at first his snotty self, thinking he is too good for the opportunity. Bailey’s eyes are drawn very quickly to the large bulge in Aiden’s jeans, but he knows he must keep it professional.
The opportunity? Playing Arena Football, like standard football, but the clock doesn’t stop, there are no sidelines, and play is fast and furious. After a little coaxing, Aiden gives in, hoping a year in the Arena will keep him in shape for the next year’s NFL draft picks.
But no one likes Aiden when he shows up. He is still an arrogant little prick (albeit a 6’7” little prick….but you get the picture.) After Aiden blows up again, this time in the owner’s box, at Bailey, in front of Bailey’s guests, Bailey is furious. He tells Aiden to meet him in his office later that night and plans to discipline Aiden and teach him a little humility. But what happens when Aiden shows up and finds the other quarterback, Nash, slurping on Bailey’s big dick. When Aiden instantly pops wood what does that mean? Where will it go from there? Get the book and read it. I loved it.

LENGTH: 69 Pages
BLURB:
Ex-NFL player Lionel Hightower now finds himself the captain of The Rockets arena team, a position he took to support his good friend and team owner, Bailey Thompson. When a play goes wrong and Lionel’s taken down for several weeks, Bailey suggests Lionel try his hand at coaching a potential new recruit for the team.
Lionel knows the injury might mean he’s out of the game he loves, and he also knows Bailey has thrown him a bone with the offer to coach. Lionel doesn’t want to coach, he wants to play—that is until he sees ex-college player Hayden Peterson and feels the need to get closer.
Hayden has it all. A strong body, a talent for the game, but he lacks the most important piece, passion for football. Lionel thinks he can inspire Hayden, as he tamps down the lust he feels for the man, but his desire to control Hayden makes it difficult.
But Hayden isn’t there for the football. He’s fanaticized about handsome Lionel for years and agrees simply to spend time with the man—with hopes his fantasies can become reality.
REVIEW:
Wow, I liked this one, maybe more than the first one! In the second installment in this series, our attention moves to Lionel Hightower. Lionel is the team captain for the Rockets, but at the beginning of the book he injures himself. Being a big macho football player, he of course decides to play through the pain. Unfortunately, he does even more damage and after the game is told he is out of commission for at least 4-6 weeks.
His best friend, and also the team owner, Bailey Thompson (who of course we know from book one), comes to him with a proposal. Since he is going to be out of commission for 6 weeks, why doesn’t he do some private coaching for a guy who Bailey thinks could be a huge asset to the Rockets. The only problem? The guy, Hayden Peterson, is currently teaching high school algebra. At Bailey’s request, Lionel visits the high school and tries to recruit Hayden.
Hayden Peterson has some issues with his students, who just don’t seem to get how algebra works, something I think any of us who had to take algebra in high school can relate to. When Lionel Hightower limps into his classroom with a boot on his foot, Hayden is surprised. Lionel is one of Hayden’s biggest celebrity crushes and the subject of many of Hayden’s masturbatory fantasies over the years!
When Lionel mentions the training, Hayden is confused because he clearly told Bailey no! He doesn’t want to play football. But he does have a serious hard-on, which he is cleverly covering with a handful of student papers! In the end he agrees to the training. Lionel is happy, because he has been hiding his own stone hard boner the entire time as well.
But what neither foresees is the chemistry that will arise between them. What happens when Lionel’s inner Dom comes out and is met with Hayden’s inner Sub? Some sizzling good sex scenes. I was also happy that Bailey, Aiden and Nash turned up in the sex scenes again as well. Always like a good 3 way! My only question at the end of the book was where the hell did Nash go when he ran off in the middle of the 3 way? Hopefully we’ll find out in book 3!

BLURB:
Quarterback Nash Carter has been at war, fighting to keep his space on The Rockets arena team. Using the only weapon he knows, his body, he gives himself over to the team owner, Bailey Thompson, in hopes of keeping his career alive. Too bad his wannabe replacement has done the same, pitting the two men against one another on and off the field—and Nash soon realizes he’s the loser.
Marcus Samuels is Bailey’s best friend and financial advisor. He wanted Nash before Bailey ever laid hands on the man, but had to crush his lust as he watched the two self-destruct. Once the smoke clears, he’s ready to take what he sees as his, and only Nash’s full surrender will do.
Cocky Nash has a reputation for self-destructing and pushing away anything good in his life. Can Marcus show Nash how deserving he is before it’s too late?
REVIEW:
If I thought I liked the second installment, it pales compared to the third! I loved this installment and it was my favorite by far! I’m always a fan of the underdog getting their own. This time our story moves to Nash Carter.
Poor Nash. I’ve felt bad for him since the beginning of this series. Something happened between him and Bailey Thompson prior to the beginning of the series that has affected him throughout the series. When Nash was Bailey’s sub, he cheated on Bailey with one of Bailey’s friends and he has been paying for it since. In book one, Bailey supplanted Nash with Aiden, and since then it has been a battle for Nash to even get to play as quarterback on the field. Even worse, he supplanted him in the Dom/Sub relationship with Bailey. Since then Nash has been the slightly unwelcome “third”.
When this installment opens, we step back to that 3 way in book two, and this time see it from Nash’s perspective. While having sex he is focused on Bailey’s friend Marcus Samuels across the room. Marcus owns the “barn” where the underground sex club is located and is uber-sexy in Nash’s opinion, but he has never given Nash the time of day. So why is he sitting across the room with a very noticeable boner while watching Nash?
Marcus has always wanted Nash. He wanted him before Nash hooked up with Bailey, but since Bailey was his best friend, he backed off. Now that Nash is available, Marcus wants his ass, and every other part of him!
I loved the interplay between these two men, and the beginnings of what looks to be a great relationship. Nash was, by far, my favorite character in the series, and I was so happy to see the series end with Nash moving towards a happy place in his life. Now go pick up the series!
