BLURB:
Jensen Rivers wasn’t looking for trouble. As the new kid on the block at Clyde’s Body Shop, all Jensen wanted was a job, a place where he could put his head down and ass up. Young and handsome, he was the kind of simple, honest guy who was happiest when he was working hard, with oil smeared across his chest and grease up to his elbows.
But Dean ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson plans on getting more than just Jensen’s hands dirty! Reckless and arrogant, drenched in sweat and dripping with a masculinity that cannot be tamed, Hutch challenges Jensen to a series of perilous night races. The prize: sexual domination!
Night after night, wheels burn, passions flare and the no-holds-barred lust between two testosterone-fuelled daredevils ignites. But losing a race is one thing. Losing your heart is something altogether more dangerous.
Will Jensen risk everything to find the love trapped behind Hutch’s fearless façade? Will Hutch bury the secret tragedy of his past before he throws away his last chance at a future?
Kickstart your need for speed, fire up your lust for life and buckle up for hottest thrill-ride of the year—Drive Shaft.
REVIEW:
Meet Jensen Rivers, fresh from Texas. He is polite, ready to begin a new life, prepared to work hard and ready to please. Jensen gets a job at Clyde’s Body Shop where the crew of the shop are not afraid to get sweaty and dirty. It is hard work, physically challenging and Jensen jumps right in with both feet.
Hutch is the alpha male in the shop and finds an instant attraction to the new guy but is broody and has a chip on his shoulder. Jensen is drawn to Hutch as well. Being the new guy he takes all the dirty work they throw to him without complaint to prove himself.
Hutch invites Jensen to a few private races; winner takes whatever he wants. I like the characters in the book. They are not flat, and boring. This book is steamy, sweaty, and dripping with raw lust served hard and rough.
Whether Jensen wins or loses, I cannot tell, I guess it depends on your perspective. Hutch has a secret and we soon find out why he is so rough on Jensen.
What made this book special are several climatic points, but the story does not run out of fuel immediately after the “money shot moment”. The story grabs you and pulls you in so far you can smell the sweat, exhaust, and motor oil.
It is a great read for a leisurely evening alone. If I say anymore I will need to borrow Hutch’s duct tape, so it will have to suffice that I will just say it is a steamy book and that I liked it and look forward to reading the others.
