Hey, *waves* from an almost spring-like London.
I’m going on a break!
First off – the moan. Don’t worry it’s very short.
Since the start of the year I’ve been thinking about giving up writing. I’m tired to be honest. After a couple of years of family trauma, financial woes and then the cancer scare I’m worn out. Also I spent most of last year coasting on the success of 2013. 2014 was not as good and it’s forced me to find a paid job.
Done the moaning – now the good part.
I love my new part-time job. I work for a publisher and it’s bloody awesome. I don’t want to give out details but I really love seeing another side of the industry.
I could give up and find another part-time job but I have books due out every month for 2015 until the middle of the year. It feels like detonating the year if I stop now. So I’ve decided to have a break from writing from now until the end of April, recharge the batteries, send the muse on a holiday and give the mojo a chance to return.
I’m a little nervous but I’ve got a load of things I want to do in the house and now seems a great time to do it. I’ll still be around but just not creating. Will the voices be quiet? I have no idea.
I’ll let you know next month.
Much love, Sue xx

Watching Marchant train his new sub leaves Tony unhappy at not having found a Dom of his own. Running Marchant’s BDSM club, Tony sees who the Doms prefer and it isn’t him—too big, too old, and too hairy. When his friend Jordan suggests he look outside the club, Tony’s mind turns to Leo, a man he met in a traffic jam. Tony manages to arrange a date and happily learns Leo is funny, very toppy, and not averse to Tony’s lifestyle. As a bonus, Leo sells sex toys.
When tragedy strikes the club, Tony fears he can’t help the mourning club members, but Leo offers his unwavering support. After such a tough start, Tony believes Leo is the Dom he’s been looking for… until he catches him kissing another man.
Hi from a very spring-like Essex! It looks like you’ve come to a good decision and it’s great to hear about your new job. It’s not about giving up, it’s all about having a new perspective – good for you!
I was in Essex yesterday, although the A127 doesn’t give much of a chance to see the spring. I did see the sunlight glinting off the sea which was wonderful.
Sorry I haven’t replied before, been away on holiday and just returned at the weekend. Hate the A127 but glad you had a chance to see the sea, I see it regularly and maybe don’t appreciate it as much as I should do.
Everyone needs to do that once in a while, honey. Take all the time you need and come back refreshed. Just know that those of us who love you very much will be waiting <3
Love you, Patti *hugs*
Recharging the batteries is a good thing. Enjoy the break and come back with a fresh and exciting zeal for more writing (that way we readers get more books!!) 😉
I will *hugs*. I was a little lost today but I’m sure that will change.
Hopefully your voices will let you take a rest (but not for to long, I need my Sue Brown books).
Hey Laurie, don’t worry. There are plenty of Sue books on the way.
