Author Name: Elizabeth Noble
Elizabeth Noble started telling stories before she actually knew how to write, and her family was very happy when she learned to put words on a page. Those words turned into fan fiction that turned into a genuine love of M/M romance fiction. Being able to share her works with Dreamspinner is really a dream come true. She has a real love for a good mystery complete with murder and twisty plots as well as all things sci-fi, futuristic, and supernatural and a bit of an unnatural interest in a super-volcano in Wyoming. Elizabeth has three grown children and is now happily owned by an adorable mixed breed canine princess named Rosie, and two cats, Murphy and Yeti. She lives in her native northeast Ohio, the perfect place for gardening, winter and summer sports (go Tribe!). When she’s not writing she’s working as a veterinary nurse, so don’t be surprised to see her men with a pet or three who are a very big part of their lives.
Two of Elizabeth’s books have received Honorable Mentions in the Rainbow Awards.

While planning a future with his partner, Val, Wyatt’s past refuses to be forgotten. Wyatt’s old friend asks him to look into the mysterious death of her uncle in a fire back in 1927, when men were silent, tough, and did not love other men—except when they did. Working with Val, Wyatt digs up clues uncovering the truth behind the tragic school fire and the one responsible. The story of Tom and Philip slowly reveals itself, and Wyatt and Val realize nothing is as simple as they originally believed. As their trail heats up, an old enemy of Wyatt’s decides he’s waited long enough for revenge. If Wyatt can’t tie everything together, history might repeat itself.

Can you tell us about this series? How did you come up with these characters?
First of all I’d like to thank you kind folks for hosting me today.
( Thank you it is our pleasure 🙂 )
Simply put, the Circles series are all novellas; they fall into the mystery/suspense category of contemporary romance. The books are all loosely interconnected because in each book we meet at least one of the MCs in the next book. In each book one of the characters is a member of some branch of American law enforcement. I say American because one of the branches on my to-do list is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Others on that list include US Park Rangers and Pinkerton Loss Prevention.
My characters come to me. I don’t go out and find them. Which sounds a little nuts, but that’s the only way I can describe it. My usual writing M.O. is to formulate a loose idea for a plot then the characters just sort of pop up. In some instances I’ve had friends, fans/readers and betas make a suggestion of something they’d like to see. Yes, I take requests. I just don’t promise a time-line for completion
Are you planning more books for Val and Wyatt?
At the present, no. Originally Circles was meant to be only Val and Wyatt investigating different sorts of crimes. As I was listing out what types of scenarios they’d look into I realized keeping with one couple and one law enforcement agency would be limiting. I was coming up with all these great side characters, and I wanted to tell their stories as well. Like most writers I have files full of plot ideas and many of mine included some sort of mystery/suspense. That’s when I had one of those AHA! moments. I could take all those things and put them into one series and interconnect them. Circles may circle back to Val and Wyatt or any of the other characters, but not in the next three or so books.
How do you pick your character names?
I’m very scientific…lol I use names my betas offer because they like them, or names I’ve heard or read that stick with me. I have websites of names and their meanings I hunt through by closing my eyes and randomly picking a letter to search under. Lastly sometimes I sit at work and peruse our data base for names that jump out at me. I like a name that isn’t so common you’ll find it everywhere, but not so unusual I can’t remember how to spell it. And, if you’re wondering, yes I’ve forgotten how I spelled a character’s name. I have one manuscript where I finally changed a name because I swear I didn’t type it the same way twice. Occasionally an interesting typo turns into a nice scifi-esk name.
If you could travel in time, where and when would you go?
Any of the Starship Enterprise, wherever it may be and I’d like to stop off and visit Vulcan.
How do you celebrate a new release??
With one great, BIG sigh of relief. A book release is like a wedding. There’s this and that detail to plan, all these things have to come together and you know something will go awry. Eventually all the little disasters (because they are mostly little and just blown out of proportion in my head) are resolved and the book hits Dreamspinner’s New Release page, is up on All Romance eBooks, Amazon, Nook, Kobo and all those other wonderful eBook buying places.
After all that happens, my dog, Rosie, gets a special yummy and a trip to the park. It’s a wild life I lead, I know.
Now, celebrating a new contract? That’s really what I do. I buy myself a little extra I’ve been wanting, usually something under $30 and seriously on sale. Often that comes in the form of a new coffee or tea to try.
What are you working on next?
I have a few projects. One book I’m in the midst of writing is a spin-off of The Sleepless City series I wrote with Anne Barwell. The third and fourth book of that series comes out later in 2015. I’m using four of the characters from that series , I’ve created a new series Akhkharu Nasaru: The Vampire Guard which is all spies and urban legends and espionage. I’m currently involved in the edits for the third of the Circles series, Jewel Cave which is due out early April 2015. That book looks at the life of a US Marshal and his longtime partner. I’m also working on a scifi series called Novi Orbis, which involves pioneering a new world.
Once they were back at their hotel, Wyatt ushered Val into their room, not bothering with the light. They were high enough up there was no need to close the drapes, and light from the city cast a soft glow over them.
As Val unbuttoned his suit jacket, Wyatt stepped up behind him, placing his palms on Val’s shoulders, then rubbing lightly up and down his arms a few times. “Let me give you a hand.” Wyatt eased the jacket off and kissed the side of Val’s neck, nudging his head to the side as he did so. A low moan rumbled out of Val’s chest. Wyatt dropped the jacket on a chair and slipped his hands under Val’s shirt, caressing Val’s skin with his fingertips.
When he reached Val’s tightening nipples, he rubbed small circles until Val’s hips jerked. Val shuddered and pulled in a quick, shaky breath, making Wyatt smile. Val’s tie and shirt joined his jacket. Wyatt ran his hands over Val’s torso before returning them to Val’s shoulders. He lightly traced the scars on Val’s shoulder with first his finger, then his tongue.
Val’s surgery to repair the damage done in the course of stopping some seriously dangerous people who had been trying to force jockeys to throw races, had left several scars. They weren’t red, raised, and angry anymore. Val never complained about them hurting, but the marks were still puckered and darker than the surrounding skin.
“You know,” Val whispered between dragging in a breath and panting it out again. “That first time we went out to dinner, I was so worried you’d think I was some uncouth, country hick because I don’t know about wine and art. And that I was too young to bother with.”
“Hmm, do you know what I worried about when I was thirty?” Wyatt scraped his teeth across Val’s shoulder blades.
“N-no. What?”
“Getting a sweet piece of hot ass,” Wyatt said in a low voice.
Val laughed. “Well, you’re sort of slow. Took you long enough. Worth the wait?”
“Oh, hell, yes.” Wyatt maneuvered Val to the bed.
