TITLE: Brothers LaFon part one: Crucial Lessons
SERIES: Brothers LaFon (#1)
AUTHOR: Joseph Lance Tonlet
PUBLISHER: Self Published
LENGTH: 60 Pages
BLURB:
Alexander LaFon lives a nightmare, but he deals with it. Deals with the fact that his mother abandoned him as an infant, deals with the fact that his father is never home, and deals with the fact that his older brother, Jeremiah, tortures him.
He dreams of escaping his mobile-home prison and finding a normal life. Of breaking free of his agony, finding a woman to love, becoming a teacher.
But some horrors you can never outrun. There’s nowhere to hide. Some nightmares chase you in your sleep and steal your freedom like a brutal thief. Some brothers never give up and never answer why.
Note: This book contains graphic violence, non-consensual sex, child abuse, and animal cruelty.
REVIEW:
Holy shite, I’m speechless. Mr. Tonlet has taken us on a trip inside the relationship of a complete psychopath and his prey. In this case the prey being his own younger brother.
I found the trip fascinating. The depths of torture, both physical and psychological, that the older brother inflicts on the younger brother are unimaginable.
This book is definitely NOT for everyone. As the warning in the blurb states, it has extremely graphic violence, non-consensual and forced incest sex, graphic child abuse, and animal cruelty leading to the death of the animals.
I can’t say much else without giving major spoilers. If you are strong enough, I recommend the book. It is probably the darkest story I’ve ever read. Even for this grumpy old bear, it was a hard read. I’m glad I did read it though, and now will nervously be awaiting part 2. It is like a car accident on the road. You don’t want to look, but once you do, you can’t look away.
Excellent job Mr. Tonlet. With this stuff running around in your brain, I’m not sure how you sleep at night!
