TITLE: Chaos Unchained
SERIES: Outlaw MC #1
AUTHOR: James Cox
PUBLISHER: Evernight Publishing
LENGTH: 61 Pages
BLURB:
What if bad guys ruled the world and the good guys were the outlaws?
I’m Chaos, patch member of Outlaw MC of Mars. We fight against the government’s warped rules under the guise of hover bike enthusiasts. Gays are put to death. Women are used for breeding. Dark-skinned men are considered slaves. I told you our world is messed up and the battle is going to be bloody. I’m currently on my way to Earth for a six-month prison sentence. Level six is for sex, a twisted buffet of ass and mouth. Level five is for the fights. That’s where I shine.
Beau is a sexy Hispanic man that’s too goofy to play with the big boys. He was loaned to me for some quick, naked fun. But it turned into something else. I don’t do relationships because of my past. My father was a serial killer. But it seems that now, I have a boyfriend. It’s complicated.
Beau is released from prison before me. Can I survive three months without his calming touch? Will he survive on Mars amid my dangerous and violent club without me?
REVIEW:
I feel another great series coming from James Cox. In fact, I will already go on record saying I think I’m going to like even more than I liked the Handsome Heroes series of his that I recently reviewed!
Mars at the turn of the next millennia is home to the humans of Earth. When the wars were over and the ecology collapsed, there was no choice but to seek a home elsewhere. Now Earth is nothing but a prison mine, inhabited by the criminals from Mars. But in this upside down world, the criminals in many cases are the good guys. As the blurb says, gay equals death; women are property and just kept for breeding purposes; dark skinned men are slaves; and the consumption of alcohol results in a jail sentence.
When we meet Chaos, he has just been sentenced to six months on Earth for alcohol use. He is literally put in a coffin shaped container and jettisoned into space headed for Earth. The eight hour flight though is interrupted by his hitting a meteor. Thinking he will die in space, he knocks himself out by hitting his head on the inside of the container enough times to become unconscious. Imagine his surprise when he wakes up to a bright light, and finds himself landing on Earth.
Right away he is approached by the head inmate and his cronies trying to pick a fight, and telling him it is his choice, fight or be forced to the 6th level where men are forced to service other men, over and over and over again. Obviously our hero chooses the fighting aspect, since he knows he could take any of the men standing in front of him. But what happens when he catches the dimpled smile of a hot Hispanic man in the group?
Beau has been sentenced to four years on Earth for helping a runaway slave. Can the two men find each other in the three months that Beau has left on Earth? And what will happen to Chaos when Beau goes back to Mars, leaving Chaos with three more months to serve?
I really like this start on a new series, but I’ll be honest, I’m not really a fan of the trend by a lot of authors towards sub-100 page books, because I read TOO DAMN FAST! However, because I think the storyline is great, the concept is great, and I know it is going to be a great series, this one lands in my 4.0 “Liked It A lot, Would Recommend” level. I can’t wait for the next installment, but I hope it will be a little longer (again…see my comment above about reading TOO DAMN FAST)! Or they can just come out really quickly! 🙂 Get typing James!!!
