Seth Wild is a firefighter who has lost everything. Nearly dying in a building collapse, he is scared and angry and chases away the only good thing in his life—school teacher Casey McGuire.
When a sudden and violent snow storm hits their town he receives a message Casey and ten kids are trapped in an education centre center with no way out. There is no one else who can help, he’s the last fire fighter in town with his bum leg and his icy heart.
He doesn’t hesitate. He always promised he would be Casey’s hero, but will he ever again be Casey’s love?
Review:
First let me start with saying this is one of the winners in this Storming Love series (1 & 2).
This story is enthralling from the very beginning, pulling you in and compelling you to keep reading. The author makes sure you get info on a regular base on what happened to Seth and to Casey and their relationship, so you don’t feel like you are missing details as this is a short story.
We find Seth & Casey in a broken relationship after Seth got hurt in the course of action. Casey is a teacher and he traveled with a few kids on a school trip, not anticipating that they would get hit by a huge blizzard storm. With everybody out the only person who is able to help or try to help is Seth. He makes sure the kids and Casey are safe and while they wait for help, the two finally find time to talk.
R.j Scott’s style is as always flawless it is comfortable, easy to read and it sucks you in. When I heard she was doing a story for this series I immediately wanted to make sure to read it.
As a avid reader of her work, I was very curious to see what she would come up in this series line. And as mentioned I definitely wasn’t disappointed.
As with most of the short story books that I like a lot, there is always the feeling like ooh I really would have liked to know this or that and in this case there is no difference. I really would have liked to see a little bit of a glimpse in the future of Seth & Casey. Where it is for sure set at the end that they have their happy ever after, and I have no doubts about that being true with the plans the authors leave us with, I would have loved to read a little bit more about how that all evolved. (I guess in a way I am hoping that Miss Scott will do something with this story at a later stage perhaps 😉 )
A very much deserved 4.5 stars and a recommendation to pick up this book, you don’t have to have read any of the other books in these series to be able to read this one.

Great review. Love stories about second chance love, and this has a firefighter to boot! 😉
