Welcome Skylar!
Secrets
Have you ever kept a secret from your best friend? Did you do it to spare their feelings or avoid conflict? Or did you do it because you knew they would never approve?
In my new novel Here for You, the story revolves around a group of housemates in South Florida. They have little family, and their friendships are extremely important to them. But as Cole discovers, even best friends can keep secrets.
Cole goes through a great deal in the novel. In some aspects of the book, he’s been rather naïve. He has a huge heart and it occasionally blinds him to the truth. However the secrets his various friends keep from Cole are not done for malicious reasons. But does a secret kept to protect you hurt just as much?
What do you think? Have you ever kept a secret from your best friend? Or discovered they had kept one from you?
One ebook of mine (reader’s choice) for a random commenter
Life is a thread connecting us. One pull and it all unravels.
Cole Gannon arrives in the seaside town of Ocean Vista to work as a bartender and finally find a place to belong. Determined to make a home for himself, Cole lives happily with his four colorful roommates, whom he considers brothers. The only problem is Cole’s attraction to Ian Stark—a guy all wrong for him. He wishes he didn’t keep running into the sexy lawyer.
Ian knows Cole is attracted to him, but the younger man keeps him at arm’s length. It only makes Ian more determined to be with Cole and learn all his secrets. But while Ian has built a successful law practice, he hasn’t done too well with relationships.
When a sudden and devastating tragedy occurs, it shatters Cole’s world and throws Cole and Ian together in unexpected ways. In an instant, everything between them changes forever.

Skylar M. Cates loves a good romance. She is quite happy to drink some coffee, curl up with a good book, and not move all day.
Most days, however, Skylar is chasing after her husband, her kids, and her giant dog, Wasabi.
Skylar dreams about spending her days writing her novels, walking along the beach, and making more time for her good friends. On a shoestring budget, Skylar has traveled all over in her early years.
Although, lately, the laundry room is the farthest place she has visited, Skylar still loves to chat with people from all around the globe.
Thanks for hosting me today!
I believe everyone keep secrets, from family or a partner or friends. It’s in our nature. So I find this story very appealing, can’t wait to read it. Thanks for the chance!
Everyone has secrets, sometimes they become so ingrained they are no longer secrets but just part of ourselves.
I love HEA stories. I am looking forward to reading yours!
I like when there are strong secondary characters in book, and when book is about family as much as it is about romance, and this one seems to be like that…so it’s going on TBR list 🙂
Loved the blurb….can’t wait to read this book!
I agree that everyone keeps secrets, sometimes you do it because it is really someone’s else’s and not yours to tell. Thanks for the post – the book sounds great!
It’s such an enticing premise!
Sounds like an amazing book. And I think everyone has a secret they keep, their secret or someone else’s.
I have kept secrets that made no difference to protect people’s feelings. The books sounds fantastic.
Yes, as the others have said, we all keep secrets – because we’ve been asked to, or for safety or many other reasons
Sounds great – looking forward to reading it
I love all of Skylar Cates’ books. I can’t wait to read it. 🙂
oh yeah, I’ve kept secrets from everyone at one time or another.
Like almost everyone else I have kept secrets. I kept the fact that I read m/m romance from my bf for a long time. She eventually found out and is now as hooked as I am. I think I’ll hold on to my other secrets though. Thanks for the giveaway. The book sounds great!
everybody keeps secrets….sometimes you’re not even aware it WAS a secret
everybody edits there life to fit in with the other persons expectations
I’ve definitely had some secrets before. Nothing malicious, though. I wouldn’t keep a secret that could potentially hurt someone, though.
I do keep secrets. I don’t like keeping others though and usually tell them to keep it to themselves when they ask if I want to know a secret.
i keep secrets from they are usually meant to spare someone not hurt them
I think everybody keeps secrets to a certain extent, though it’s not always a malicious thing. It’s more that I just like my privacy!
I think everyone keeps secrets to some extent. I’m not sure there is one person that knows everything about me or me about them. Not that it’s secret but I think that is just in our nature.
This story sounds awesome! Sure, I keep secrets if i know they will hurt someone.
I love Skylar´s books. So i´m pretty sure i´m going to love this one to. As for the question about keeping secrets, i think everybody keeps secrets.. And sometimes it´s better to keep something a secret especially when it could hurt someone for no reason.
Thanks for the giveaway!
What a moral dilemma. I think there is a time and place to reveal or keep something secret, which may depend on the secret that needs to be kept and level of how far you wish to deceive someone. Then if it comes out you may loose a friendship anyway, for instance if you know a friends partner is being unfaithful do you tell them or wait until the deception unfolds?
Thank you for a chance to win a copy of this book, as I love when it when a story or a conversation provokes such a reaction and I am intrigued to read the story – added to wish list 🙂 PS love the cover.
congrats Trix!
