Can Linus convince the flirty nurse to give romance a chance? Or is it impossible for Micah to truly become his?
REVIEW:
In this book “Impossibly His”, which is part of the ongoing “His” series, we meet Dr. Linus Montgomery a recent transfer to the hospital doing a residency in cardiology. Linus is very serious and a bit standoffish although most of that has to do with his crush on a certain doctor and a flirtatious nurse that is in the way. Micah Florentine is everything Linus is not. He is flirty, bubbly, gorgeous, and outgoing. Watching Micah with Geoff it’s apparent that Linus doesn’t stand a chance. So Linus is content to stand on the single side lines and since losing his boyfriend three years ago, he’s wary to get his heart involved. Micah had second thoughts before getting involved with Dr. handsome aka Dr. Geoff Spencer. He doesn’t believe in relationships and instead is focused on being wild and free. He is still young and doesn’t think he will settle down until much later. After the second night stand with Geoff, he returns to work and Micah finds he is scheduled to work with Linus. After not finding anywhere to sit in the cafeteria, the two talk to each other and after Micah corrects some assumptions Linus has of him, Micah decides that the two should be bff’s. This begins a journey of two completely opposite individuals finding more than they bargained for in each other.
This was a good read but rather short for my liking. Linus was definitely my cup of tea since I usually find myself rooting for the underdog and he was that for sure. Linus thought he was okay but he didn’t see himself as outstanding. I really didn’t like that he had a crush on a guy that obviously had a huge ego and I kind of wanted to smack Linus for even thinking of lowering his standards. Micah took a bit to grow on me since in the beginning we see him like Linus does. Someone who is gorgeous, quite possibly a slut, and used to getting whomever he wants. I was glad he was wrong. Micah did have a good head on his shoulders he just wanted to have fun. After he became friends with Linus we get to see another side to him, someone who is smart, loves his cat Sylvester, and making a good career for himself. Then I was rooting for him and Linus to get together. It was fun to see how they both fought the feelings they had for each other. I liked how Linus grew more confident and it was almost like he switched places with Micah. In the end this was a good addition to the “His” series. I just wanted to see it stretched out a bit more.
