TITLE: Criss Cross
SERIES: PsyCop, Book 2
NARRATOR: Gomez Pugh
AUTHOR: Jordan Castillo Price
PUBLISHER: JCP Books, LLC
LENGTH: 4 hrs & 9 mins
BLURB:
Criss Cross finds the ghosts surrounding Victor getting awfully pushy. The medications that Victor usually takes to control his abilities are threatening to destroy his liver, and his new meds aren’t any more effective than sugar pills.
Vic is also adjusting to a new PsyCop partner, a mild-mannered guy named Roger with all the personality of white bread. At least he’s willing to spring for the Starbucks.
Jacob’s ex-boyfriend, Crash, is an empathic healer who might be able to help Victor pull his powers into balance, but he seems more interested in getting into Victor’s pants than in providing any actual assistance.
REVIEW:
So, here we are back again reviewing this great series, PsyCops by Jordan Castillo Price. This book…WOW…I was pretty hooked from the moment it started to the very end.
In this story…we again get to see what is happening to Victor and Woooo Gurlene’s…it’s something!! Victor seems to be attacking Jacob, leaving bloody marks and the most notable…a X on his chest. Victor is getting so scared to even fall asleep next to him, not knowing what he’s about to do to his boyfriend. Victor’s also seeing more ghosties than ever and it even appears that they can jump into his body. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Jordan keeps you on your toes the entire time and I was breathing hard a couple of times with the suspense of the story. Great Job, Jordan!!
Jordan as added some new characters…Curtis aka Crash. You don’t get to see much of Crash in this story, but what you saw…he’ll intrigue you. I know that he did me. Roger…he’s Victor’s new partner and wow becky…this guy rubbed me wrong from the beginning. He was just too nice and sweet. I had a feeling about him and I’m glad that I paid attention to my gut feelings. Lisa is also back and I really hope that she gets a bigger part in the series. I really liked her character and would love to see her developed more.
I want to know more about the GhosTV’s that are in this story. I was so enthralled with the mystery of figuring out what was happening to our poor Victor.
Gomez Pugh again took these characters and made them his own!! Each and every character came alive for me. I love the way he captures Victor’s quirks. I really liked how Gomez captured Victor’s vulnerability. Not just with all of the scary stuff happening to him, but also regarding his relationship with Jacob. How much Jacob means to him and how terrified he is because he seems to be attacking him. I really love how Gomez brought Roger’s overly syrupy sweetness to life. Miss Maddie, Crash’s ghost really came alive for me.
This audiobook was a great second installment to this series. Jordan has a new fan and so does Gomez. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
