SERIES: Storming Love: Blizzard #1
AUTHOR: Sara York
PUBLISHER: MLR Press
LENGTH: 68 pages
BLURB:
Jens Arnesen is only looking for a taste of the city, a place to experience Boston. What he finds is a sexy naked man who ends up being more than he bargained for.
Elliot Matthews needs a place to stay until the storm blows over and the airports open. Being walked in on by Jens starts out as an annoyance but grows into the best thing in his life.
When the skies clear and the airports open, they have no choice but to part. If only they lived closer to each other then life would be perfect.
When the storm throws them together, can Jens and Elliot make the most of the situation?
REVIEW:
When a blizzard traps Jens and Elliot in Boston, both men are offered a room in a house being let by a friend. Problem is, Jens and Elliot don’t know each other–nor know that they are going to be temporary roommates–until Jens walks in on Elliot (gloriously) naked, coming out of the shower. Turns out the house is owned by two people, and those two people apparently have communication issues, because both owners have individually promised the room as safe haven to both men. Without ever telling anyone else. Now Jens and Elliot are going to have to tough out a blizzard with a complete stranger, and hope that no one turns out to be an ax murder. Or straight.
There are some things about this story that I really liked, including the fact that Jens broke up his (rather lousy) boyfriend, before he did any with Elliot. It was nice that he saw the need to call it quits officially, even though they had clearly been heading towards a break for some time. Plus it avoid a rather nasty situation that they (Jens and Elliot) could have found themselves in later on, if Jens had been less than honest with everyone all around.
Also, the fact that they let the relationship grow before they threw themselves headfirst into it, was a nice choice.
But while there was certainly nothing wrong, per se, with this short story, I have to admit that I found myself rather underwhelmed by it. Once it was over, it was over, and I had a rather easy time letting this one go. In fact, if I wasn’t obligated to write a review I don’t know if I would even be remembering details of this story three days later. So yeah. It’s not bad, but not probably the best start to this new Storming Love Series.

This is one of the oldest tropes – two people trapped together whether intentionally or not. Thanks for the review!
