I am incredibly excited this week.
A few days ago, I signed a contract with Dreamspinner Press for my eleventh book.
I think I was the most nervous about this book (honestly, I’m nervous about all my books, but this one packed an extra-large whopping pile of anxiety along with it). I was so nervous, it took me more than two years to finally write it.
It’s called Resurrecting Elliot and it’s the second book in the Newport Boys Series (Keeping Sweets was Book 1)
When I was writing Keeping Sweets, I loved Bran and Evan, but even more, I loved Colt, and if feedback from certain readers is to be believed, I wasn’t the only one. A part of me wishes that I’d written Colt’s book right away, before Bran and Evan hit the shelves. But I put it off, feeling like there was so much pressure for this book to live up to expectations. I’ve had his story line in my head forever, and I could see his guy just as clearly, but I hesitated. I love Colt and I wanted to give him the story he deserved.
I think I managed, and I hope my readers think so too.
Resurrecting Elliot will be available from Dreamspinner Press sometime this summer.
Colt is finally going to get his happily ever after. 🙂
Here is the completely unofficial blurb:
After witnessing a horrific tragedy, the nightmares and panic attacks have kept Elliot Lawrence prisoner in his own home. Months relying on his sister as his only connection to the world beyond his own walls make Elliot desperate for a sliver of independence. He reaches out in the most innocuous way he can think of: grocery delivery.
Colton Kelly, retired porn star and recent college graduate, is struggling at two minimum wage jobs, trying to make ends meet. During one of his grocery deliveries, he meets Elliot. Although the attraction between them is instant, they must first start on the long road toward putting Elliot back together. When tragedy strikes yet again, Elliot doesn’t know if he’s strong enough to be the man Colt needs him to be.
I adored book 1 and I’m happy to hear there will be more. Do you already know when it will be released? 🙂
Thank you so much! I have heard a rumour that it’s going to be somewhere around July 20th, but don’t quote me on that 😉
That’s fantastic! I enjoyed that book a lot. Will there be more books in the Hope Cove series? I love that series.
Thanks Serena!
I don’t have any plans for more Hope Cove books at the moment, but I’m working on a new series that has a similar feel. I love small towns 🙂
I loved Keeping Sweets! Definitely can’t wait for this one.
Thank you!!
Awesome! I love Keeping Sweet (really I loved all your books). I’m looking forward to seeing Resurrecting Elliot when it’s out later this year =)
Thanks H.B.!
I’ll admit I’m pretty excited about it.
Keeping Sweets is one of my all time favorites – can’t wait for this!
Thank you so much!
