This is a Series Review of the Handsome Heroes Series (Books 5-8)
AUTHOR: James Cox
PUBLISHER: Evernight Publishing
SERIES REVIEW:
James Cox introduced us to the Handsome Heroes Series in Book 1 and continued up to Book 8, which sadly is the end of the Handsome Heroes Series. In this, Part 2 of the Series Review, we will cover Books 5-8. As I said last week, I’m really loving Mr. Cox’s universe.
Again we have men of a bunch of different species all having sex with each other. Penises come in many shapes, sizes, colors and even numbers. So does cum. From “taste the rainbow” to cum that turns to snow the minute it hits the air, to cum that glows in the dark for hours afterwards.
I hope you enjoy these final four as much as I did. Taken together, they are again a fairly light hearted romp through the universe, with a bunch of hot men, and a lot of sex, and I mean a lot. They were fun to read and read kind of like a trashy gay sci-fi “B” movie. Picture the movie Flash Gordon, with Sam J. Jones as Flash Gordon having sex with Timothy Dalton as Prince Barin and you’ll see my take on the story. (Hopefully you looked up their photos from that movie last week when you read my review so you know what I’m talking about….and hope Sam J. Jones nude version wasn’t the first one that popped up for you…unless that is what you Googled…LOL.)
Each story in this series builds on the previous books, and characters continue to pop in and out of the story. I would recommend reading them in order, and I recommend all eight. So let’s check out the final four. 🙁 to see the story over…
TITLE: Handsome Slave Seeks Horny Hero (Handsome Heroes #5)
LENGTH: 65 Pages
BLURB:
Rykna is a rare Verglas breed. His skin is icy when he’s horny and his sperm turns into snow. He has survived war and vicious slavery. Rykna is on a mission to find his family, only to discover his sister is being auctioned off to the winner of a space race. Now, all this handsome slave needs is a pilot.
Ever is in need of money in order to return home and get far away from his stalking ex. The only way to do that is to join Rykna in the space race. Ever also has a problem with his hot skin—burning his clothes off being the main issue. Trying to fly through asteroids with weapons pointed at them would go a lot easier if his junk wasn’t hanging about for all to see.
Can these two work together to win the space race?
REVIEW:
Well, as you can see from the Blurb, this installment revolves around Rykna, the sexy cold former slave from Book 4! He has left Planet Graydon and set off into the universe to find his long lost sister. They were both made slaves when their planet was invaded and now that he is a free man he will stop at nothing to find her.
Rykna can’t believe it when he sees a post of an upcoming Space Race that has as one of its prizes, a slave girl from Planet Verglas! It is his long lost sister. Rykna realizes he must enter the contest and win at any cost in order to free his sister. There is only one major problem….Rykna isn’t by any means a pilot. He has been depending on the ship to fly itself, which will never work in the race.
Enter a hot guy named Everknot, who says his name can be shortened to Ever, but not Eve because that is a girl’s name and he “has enough cock to make most women run for cover”. Luckily he is more into the men.
Ever has one problem, unless he has a pendant around his neck to absorb the heat from his body, his clothes burn off. Oh what a shame. Hot naked guy flying the ship! So what happens when someone who is so hot that his clothes burn off and someone who is so cold his cum turns to snow hookup? Well there will definitely be some steam! (OK, I know that was cheesy…hehehe)
I really liked this installment and you will as well. The writer seems to be getting better and better with each one.

TITLE: Handsome Sex Addict on Planet 9 (Handsome Heroes #6)
LENGTH: 70 Pages
BLURB:
Great balls of steel!
Bray is a spoiled, rich young man addicted to the Virtual Sex Room and a pleasure enhancing substance that makes him regenerate faster. When he misses his brother’s bonding ceremony, the secret of just how far addicted he is, comes out. Of course, he won’t take help because he doesn’t need help. All his friends and family are wrong!
Kamden is the sexiest straight guy in the universe and wants nothing more than to see his friend Bray kick the habit. He promises to get help for Bray because they’ve been friends for years. Kamden also believes Bray is the only one who might accept him as he is, part cyborg. Together they fly into the darkness of space determined to reveal secrets and overcome addictions.
However, the plan is interrupted by another aggressive ship. They crash land on a planet known as 9 because it’s not yet suitable for human life. Can Bray overcome his addiction, Kamden’s balls of steel, and find a way off this planet?
REVIEW:
This one worried me a little bit. I can see the virtual reality portions of this book happening in real life, and sooner than we know it. We already see it with the newest generation and their complete disassociation with outside stimuli while texting, playing video games, etc.!
In Handsome Sex Addict on Planet 9 we are introduced to Bray, the brother of Ever in Book 5. Bray has a problem, a huge problem, and not just the fact that his clothes burn off if he takes off his pendant like Ever’s clothes did in the previous book.
Bray is a drug addict. He is heavily addicted to the drug Loxide, a drug which was mentioned in Book 5 as being “like five extra doses of adrenaline and an old earth drug called Viagra.” It allows recovery from an orgasm over and over and over until the drug is gone.
Bray’s problem is he is addicted to both the drug and to sex. He spends hours at a time in a virtual sex room drugged out on Loxide. When the book opens he awakens in the virtual room with cum dripping from the ceiling, covering the walls, the floor and himself. His penis is rubbed raw and he aches all over…..but he thinks boy was it worth it.
Bray falls asleep, only to be awoken by his friend Kamden on the comm. Bray has the rings for his brother Ever and Rykna’s bonding ceremony. After promising to get cleaned up to head out for the ceremony, he thinks that maybe a couple quick orgasms wouldn’t hurt and would help take the edge off before he went to the ceremony. Next thing he knows Kamden is in the virtual room, dragging him out. He has been in there the entire day and missed the bonding ceremony completely. Kamden forces him to face the fact that he is hopelessly addicted and needs to get off the drug.
They take off into space to let Bray detox, but after being fired on by pirates, they crash onto a Planet 9. Planet 9 refers to a planet that is almost finished with terraforming, but not yet ready for human occupation. What will happen to them, as the planet is still evolving, and uninhabited? What will Bray think when he discovers that his best friend, who he has known and lusted after for years is a partial cyborg? Will they get off the planet alive?
Another great installment. I liked how in this book the author incorporated both drug addiction and sex addiction. Imagine, if you can, a virtual reality so complete that you could call up whatever your desires requested. It isn’t that far in the future. Will men ever leave home? (Since it will take internet porn to a whole new level!)

TITLE: Handsome Men Bite Back (Handsome Heroes #7)
LENGTH: 76 Pages
BLURB:
Handcuffed to the horny dragon…
Pretty boy Alyx is sentenced to five years on a prison planet for a crime he didn’t commit. On route, he’s chained to a sexy, pierced man who sure as hell deserves to be incarcerated. When the ship they’re on has a riot, Alyx is stuck fleeing with his forced partner.
Tor has hidden his species from everyone as a dragon from the Dark Planets. That is until he’s cuffed to a timid human. Together they must avoid the law and find the killer among the criminals that are picking them off one by one. He is falling for the smart and shy Alyx. When things get tough, Tor must shift into his larger dragon form to save them but what will the pretty boy think of his beast within?
The world seems to always be nipping at Alyx’s ass. Now it’s time for him to bite back.
REVIEW:
A dragon? As soon as I read the blurb, I knew I’d love this story. Alyx is the Ambassador from Earth, but after he catches his conniving boyfriend Mantel tied to a bed with his butt in the air, getting ridden hard by some stranger, things go to hell fast.
Security shows up and Mantel tells them that he is the real Alyx and that Alyx is a kidnapper who has kept him trapped in his home for months. He also tells them where Alyx hides the drugs. Obviously we the readers know they are Mantel’s drugs and that Alyx is innocent but Security doesn’t know that. Following a fast trial, Alyx is sentenced to 7 years confinement for his crimes.
He is loaded onto a prison ship, and hand-cuffed to a huge hulking man named Torquil with piercings, dangerous looks and a dragon tattoo. Tor hits all Alyx’s bad-boy buttons and he can’t control his instant hard-on. The ship takes off, but before it gets far it crashes and the prisoners escape. I think this is supposed to be the same prison ship that rescued Bray and Kamden, and then crashed on take off afterwards.
Regardless, some of the prisoners survive. What happens when Alyx realizes that Tor not only has a dragon tattoo, but is actually a dragon? Who is killing off the prisoners, one by one?
An entertaining installment. This was probably my favorite in the series.

TITLE: Handsome, Hung, and at Your Service (Handsome Heroes #8)
LENGTH: 70 Pages
BLURB:
Slave to the sexy demon…
Prince Ocen of Falla Bray was just looking for some fun. What he got was betrayal. He’s sold at a slave auction to a despicable family that wants him for pleasure.
Hunter is the oldest male offspring in the family and the only one who believes slavery is wrong. In a fit of bravery, or craziness, he helps free their newest blue-skinned slave and they run for it.
Ocen is attracted to the much older Hunter—even though he can send out bolts of electricity through his fingertips, and his penis makes a strange humming sound when they kiss. However, this adventure is about to get even more dangerous as Ocen and Hunter must survive the violent Dark Planets.
Ocen will get his adventure, but at what cost?
REVIEW:
Prince Ocen is only a few weeks old but has been age progressed to age eighteen and then stopped so he will age normally from this point forward. He is the son of the King of the Falla Bray and Ashthor. Which means he is the nephew of King Malvern of the Planet Graydon (even though the series never got back to that officially…but I digress.)
Ocen is tricked into sex by one of his servants, and then tricked into going with the servant to escape to what he thinks is a few week adventure in space, after which he will return to Falla Bray and settle down. Little does he know that the servant has sold him into slavery and that he is headed for the forbidden Dark Planets! These planets should come with a warning like some old earth maps that say “here there be dragons.”
Once in the Dark Planets space, Ocen is sold to the highest bidder, who then gives him to his youngest son to teach him how to dominate another being. When the father and son try to force Ocen to submit, he refuses, instead running out of the building right into a huge wall of a man. You guessed, it is his handsome hero.
In this installment the handsome hero is another dragon, named Hunter. Before you know it they have jumped off a waterfall into a dark land to try to escape. What happens in those dark lands, full of gargoyles with sharp teeth, and what happens when the sun rises and the entire planet turns into one huge orgy?
You’ll have to read the book and find out. As I said above, this is the last of the Handsome Hero books. I’m sad to see them end. I’m rating this one a little lower because I felt that there were a few story lines that could have been tied together a little better at the end. Even with maybe an additional Epilogue that said where everyone was now. Based on the fact that Ocen is only a few weeks old, the entire eight book series only took a few weeks.
