Yesterday, at Lust And Laptops, I gave literature professor and rare document expert Adin Tredeger a quiz I got from QuizSocial.com, What kind of Romantic are you?

 

Today, I thought a quiz was in order for Adin’s vampire lover Donte. Let’s call this section, “Interview with a…” Wait. Okay. Maybe not.

 

Interviewer: Where’s the best place to find love?

 

Donte’s Answer: I don’t look for love. I’ve never looked for love.

 

Interviewer: That’s not one of the answers.

 

Donte: Nevertheless, it’s my answer.

 

Interviewer: Sir, you need to choose an answer from the list.

Donte: No I do not.

 

Interviewer: Um…All right, then. Let’s move on. Who was your first crush?

 

Donte’s answer: Hm…The first person I actually crushed was my ex-wife. She deserved it.

 

Interviewer: No, that’s not an answer.

 

Donte: Isn’t it? At the time I assure you, it was the only answer. As you say. Move on.

 

Interviewer: What do you do when you’re attracted to someone?

 

Donte’s Answer: I take them.

 

Interviewer: Wait—

 

Donte: Only if they’re willing. I leave them uninjured, for the most part.

 

Interviewer: You get that this is supposed to be a fun, amusing quiz right?

 

Donte: I understand that it’s supposed to be. I’m still waiting for the amusing part to begin.

 

Interviewer: All right. Choose a romantic vacation destination.

 

Donte’s Answer: I enjoy the Hollywood Forever Cemetery very much. I like to walk among the dead.

 

Interviewer: Of course you do. What word describes your relationship history?

 

Donte’s Answer: Enduring.

 

Interviewer: What would like for Valentine’s Day?

 

Donte’s Answer: I would very much like for a certain stubborn human to admit—at long last—that I’m the apex of the food chain on this planet. That would certainly be refreshing.

 

Question: When is the right time to get married?

 

Donte’s answer: I can’t imagine there is one.

 

Question: What’s your favorite fictional romance?

 

Donte’s Answer: Fictional romance? I find most fictional love stories to be absurd. I can see my choices are limited to Romeo and Juliet, Rhett and Scarlet, some pop culture references, and… Who are Jim and Pam?

 

Interviewer: “Um…They’re from The Office.”

 

Donte: Ah. I think it unlikely I’d know anyone from your office.

 

Interviewer: No—That’s a television show.

Donte: I try not to watch television. None of those fictional romances appeal to me in the slightest. I like the story of David and Jonathon. It’s not fictional. It’s not even a romance in the sense you’re implying, but a bond of love—a sacred covenant between men who hold each other in highest esteem. Men who were willing to sacrifice for each other. That’s my favorite love story.

 

Interviewer: Needless to say, the computer quiz was never intended for someone like Donte Fedelta, however we were able to learn a little more about him, and if you want to know more, Deep Desire is now available in ebook and print!
