The effects of an attack on SIN, a twenty-nine year old University lecturer, reach out further into his future than SIN could ever imagine.
In a story, which seems doomed to start with an end, SIN learns about the forever kind of love, and how family is not just biological.
‘Soul-Mate for SIN’ shows how twists of fate can take a loving, but ordinary family, from a small market town in Lincolnshire, England and turn them into something extraordinary.

Hello, what’s your name, and who are you?
Hello, I’m Danny and I’m a police detective with GTown police.
So can you tell us how you know SIN?
Yes, I know Charlie better I suppose, but I was the officer put in charge of the case after the…’incidents’. I can’t really talk much about that.
Is that because of legal issues?
Um no… it’s because Izzy van Swelm would be pretty angry if I give too much away.
Oh right…What can you tell us about Soul Mate for SIN?
Let me see…well I meet some really nice people and get to become part of their group a little. SIN has a hard time but he has such wonderful support from his family and friends. Plus, of course he meets…someone who will become very important. I really envy their relationship it must be nice to meet ‘the one’ someone you can rely on always… someone who will love you no matter what. I might have met someone like that…but I’m not sure how they feel…never mind…
Have you been to The Rainbow Lounge? I’ve heard a lot about it from the others.
Yes, I’ve been there with the others a couple of times…it’s not really my sort of thing you know. I like being with Snowy and Sally, SIN’s parents and I always hope to see Charlie…and Julie of course…it’s not quite the right image for an officer of the law though.
I’m sorry Danny I thought you were gay?
What? … What gave you that idea? I mean I’ve never said…never promoted the …never acted…I’m a police officer. (Wipes face) Of course I defend the LGBTQ community’s equal rights and uphold all the laws. Soul Mate for SIN shows what happens when the rule of law is ignored…terrible crimes and hatred. The police force is sometimes not as open minded as it could be…that’s all I have to say.
Okay Danny. Why do you think readers will enjoy Soul Mate for SIN?
It’s a good story…I like a good story with characters you can understand and feel for…real people. There‘s a nice love story, and we all need more love in the world. There is the construction of a family in this novel really, that’s nice…they are such great parents…Snowy and Sally I mean. They always open their arms and hearts to people in need, I guess. They’ve been very kind to me. There are some sexy parts…I was told…I didn’t…obviously. (Wipes face again)
Does this interview make you uncomfortable Danny?
No, no of course not I just don’t want to upset Izzy by giving too much away…Have I finished now?
Yes, thank you for your time Danny.
Izzy van Swelm is English, but took her Mother in Law’s maiden name as a pen name. Izzy dreams of a world where all sentient species have rights and respect. A world where LGBTQ lovers and friends, old and young, can walk holding hands meeting nothing more than the occasional affectionate eye roll. A world where intelligence, gentleness and compassion are the overwhelming attributes of politicians, and religion is practiced by those who believe, but never forced on those who do not.
Izzy is a romantic, a dreamer, a vegetarian and just a little eccentric. Izzy writes because she loves to tell stories, and she hopes that her stories will bring happiness, enjoyment and maybe to some…a little hope.
