SERIES: Uniform Encounters 3
AUTHOR: Morticia Knight
PUBLISHER: Totally Bound
LENGTH: 207 pages
BLURB: Paramedic Terrence Samuels loves a good time, especially at Phoenix’s top sex club for the GLBT crowd—Sinsation. The young African-American stunner with model good looks is very popular with many of the men at the club. One in particular seems to want more than Terrence would like to give, and is getting extra pushy. But when the sexy ER doctor takes care of Terrence after an injury whilst out on a call, he wonders if it’s time to get out of the club scene.
Ever since his long-time partner died, ER doctor Jackson Reed has been content to live alone with his cat. At thirty-eight, he thinks he has had his chance at love already. He likes to keep to himself at work, but his classic movie-star looks attract the wrong type of attention from a feisty female co-worker. When he blurts out that he’s gay to fend her off, she takes the rejection badly, and now he’s the focus of plenty of salacious hospital gossip.
It takes a lot of convincing from Terrence just to get Jackson to go out for a drink. Once they get together though, the chemistry is so strong that Jackson is ready to take the next step with his exotic date. But will Terrence be able to resist hooking up with multiple partners at Sinsation? And can Jackson trust that his younger stud won’t break his heart? Ultimately, it might be the bomb threats against the City of Mesa that tears them apart forever.
REVIEW:
This is the third in a seven part series that continues the story of Mesa, Arizona’s men in uniform. Of all the couples featured, Terrence and Jackson are my favorite so far. I love reading about interracial couples. This is the second interracial couple in the series and I must say that she’s done a great job of portraying them.
Terrance is the gorgeous African American paramedic that is sexy but sweet. I loved his personality. He was sassy but not in a snarky or campy way. He was compassionate and so very kind, which made him so good at his job. Underneath the fun party boy exterior, he was a man looking for his soul made and to settle down with that one special man. He found his dream man in the form of hunky doctor Jackson Reed. The hunky doctor is beautiful but a bit buttoned up and so…restrained, contained, polished and so sophisticated. You almost want to reach into the book and ruffle his hair or something. I liked that about his character and I liked that about him. Jackson and Terrence’s personalities are different but they complement each other. Terrence is exactly the type of man Jackson needs to get him to feel comfortable enough to explore a different side of his personality. He wants to be a man that takes care of his lover, to explore the more sensual side of his personality. I adored these two together. What I also found clever was Knight has two characters that serve as a common thread. Reggie and Jason broke my heart but both men were on the road to redemption and healing by the end of the story. Ms. Knight did a great job of ensuring the book ended on a high note. I absolutely love this series. You care about what happen with these men. I look forward to hearing more from them.
