BLURB:
Chris thought he was done with his gaming days. He’d deleted his account, gone back to his day job, and put his fantasy world days behind him… but couldn’t resist the urge to return. This time, however, he decided to play as a woman—a persona he maintains even when he makes friends with Jessica.
When Jessica offers online sex, Chris still cannot bring himself to confess his secret. As their relationship turns serious, still he cannot admit to the ruse. Then Jessica proposes they meet offline, and Chris is finally forced to confront the questions and choices he’s been avoiding…
REVIEW:
Chris knows that his online gaming habits are not the most healthy thing for him. And he has tried, honestly, to walk away from his games. But he always finds himself coming back. With this latest fall off the wagon, though, he does something that he has been secretly longing to do for a long time: play as a female character.
When he meets Jessica, another player on the game, they quickly fall into a less than platonic, if completely cyber, relationship. Chris knows he should be honest, or at the very least keep his secret identity strictly in the land of elves and orcs, but with each new meeting he finds himself drawn closer and closer to Jessica…and even closer to Christina, his online persona.
I’m pretty much split on this one. The begging was a bit of a rough sell, for me. I had a hard time getting into the story and orientating myself in the world of online gaming. It’s only something I dabbled with many many moons ago, and not something I know all that much about. Since I wasn’t sure what characters in this game were capable of (visual wise) I kept getting confused as to what was fantasy and what was actually taking place (in cyberspace). The sexting was pretty damn hot, though.
As the story got underway, I did start to find the groove, though it wasn’t until near the end, where the two characters met in real life that I was totally enjoying myself. That thing with the panties and the gaming table? Yeah, that was freaking hot. *happy sigh* Give me a little bit of lace over a hard cock and I’m yours for life.
A lot of misdirection and half-truths made it hard for me to find my head space, but it also made the story interesting…so, it wasn’t the end of the world, I guess. I think that the story might have lost focus a bit during the middle (Amanda’s rambling just about put me to sleep) but it pulled it together nicely in the end. Wish we had a bit more of that, and a bit less of confusing middle bit.
