Blurb:
Leslie “Red” Parks was pretty surprised to find he was considered attractive enough to be a male escort. And once he started and the money came rolling in, he found he didn’t want to stop. For the first time in his life, people truly want him, and he likes that. A lot.
Kirk Toliver has never thought of himself as desirable either—which is why he is single. That, and he has spent years of his life caring for his ill mother. Before she passed away, she made him promise he would splurge on something crazy with the money she left him. So what’s crazier than hiring a male escort?
But neither expected that one night together could lead to what was missing in both their lives.
Review:
Let me first start with saying that I really enjoy B.G Thomas’s writing. His stories are inspiring, enjoyable, easy reads and I look forward to seeing a new title appear.
When I read the blurb for this story I was immediately sold…I mean rentboys!
We meet Red “Leslie” who is a high-class rentboy. Not having the easiest childhood, having had problems as he was growing up and left feeling anything but desirable, we now meet him really liking the fact that people (customers) find him desirable and are willing to pay big money to be with him.
Then we have Kirk who’s the total opposite of Red but more like a man who “Leslie”could really like. Kirk is a shy bear type of man. He spends his inheritance on a night with his dream guy “Red”.
Neither man could have imagined that one night could change both of their lives and what could come of one night being together with ……. “The right one??”
As I mentioned I really like the authors writing. It is real, honest and catchy and it flows wonderfully. The writing wasn’t a problem for me because it is still that way but unfortunately it was the story that just didn’t get to me.
I didn’t feel a connection to either of the main characters, though they were nice and there was indeed a story behind both of them. I just didn’t feel it.
I found myself struggling to concentrate and to keep up to date on how the story evolved. It is not that the story isn’t real or holds no real elements because god knows it does.
I am happy that Leslie and Kirk get their happy ending, I feel pleased that Leslie finds a way to cope with his past and that Kirk learns to be more confident, as I am also very satisfied that they are together.
But that is it nothing more, nothing less.
I do want to applaud Mr Thomas for addressing certain difficult or tender subjects in this story so kudo’s for that.

Thanks for this review. I usually avoid stories this short and this one probably won’t be an exception. Like you, I enjoy his writing and the subject but I don’t think this one is for me.
the review got my interest up so I’m looking forward to reading this book.
I loved it. I would definitely recommend it 🙂
