Urban Sinclair thinks he has it all. An amazing life, a nice house he shares with Tyson, his boyfriend of eight years. Urban learns the hard way that life is full of unexpected surprises and people aren’t always as happy as he thinks. Unexpectedly single and heartbroken, Urban knows he can only take it one day at a time. A daunting endeavor while he still shares a house with the man responsible for shattering his heart.
Before Urban can even begin grieving, let alone moving on, Tyson makes a shocking revelation that spins his world around for an extra loop. Can this new surprise show Urban that life isn’t about endings but about making memories and sharing limitless new beginnings?
Review:
I have to be careful to not give away too much in this review. The story unfolds itself fairly simply but starts off with a bang! That left me with the urge to go sneakily to the end to see what would be waiting for me 🙂
When we get introduced to the main characters, you undeniably want to form your opinion on both of them which will start you off on the wrong foot straight away. With that surprising and unexpected start, author Kyle Adams has you intrigued right away.
As the reader of the story you immediately feel for Urban. You want to know what brought Tyson to his decision and Urban’s devastation is very real.
In a way you could say that when you find out Tyson’s motives, it is kind of anti-climatic but on the other hand you feel such a sense of relief – at least this reader did – and interest in seeing what the author planned out for the rest of the story.
He sure doesn’t disappoint in that. He delivers a “satisfying” novella with literally a ton of surprises, with romance and serious moments topped with a nice dose of sexiness and anticipation. Let’s say I got just as anxious as Urban 🙂
I enjoyed reading this story and it fit perfectly with our theme week of “New Beginnings”.
In a way you might not think that if, when hearing new beginnings, you think of starting something completely new, but it can also mean starting over or re-kindling a relationship.
A comfortable easy, read with nice characters and fluid writing, which made me interested in finding more books from this author. I love his style and the way he expresses his characters emotions and his vivid descriptions.
