REVIEW:
In this book we have Drake, a popular singer with a career that has slowly taken over his life. He is exhausted, lonely, and has never readily admitted to anyone that men were his thing. As he reaches his wits end, he gets a letter from an old friend named Scott, inviting him to spend some time at his place. It is located in the country and frankly in the middle of nowhere. Drake is sold. He cuts off all contact having to do with his singing career and runs for the hills. Scott, now an artist, saw Drake on tv and realized how tired his friend looked. Scott sends the letter unsure of Drakes response but he is excited to see that Drake took him up his offer. He was unprepared to feel the hot jolt of lust for his run down rock star friend. As Drake slowly relaxes, plays with the dogs Lord and Lady while regaining his energy, he begins to see more of what Scott has to offer. What follows is a sweet tale of old friends as they begin their journey into lovers.
I adored this book. I could definitely relate to Drake with his career taking over his life he just wanted some peace and quiet. I loved his attitude, and how he just threw caution to the wind in going after what he wanted. Scott was just a good old boy. I could easily picture his home, with the dogs running around the ranch, and the horses flying over the land. He was just a sweet man. When Drake arrived he just hustled him and took care of him despite how long it had been since he had seen him. The love scenes were just tasty tidbits of heat. It wasn’t too much and it definitely didn’t distract from the romantic and budding love between the two mc’s. I believe my favorite scene is when Scott shows him the portraits the he painted and it just made me want to give a huge awww. The ending to the book was just what I wanted. There was not a lot of angst, just a nice, and warm love story. So if you looking for an easy read, just something soft and easy on the heart pick this up. You will not be disappointed.
