I have a story. Paul Berry helped me with this tonight. Because of the topic of both sides of this story, I’ve kind of not said this on purpose. Please know, it doesnt go unnoticed that this little town I live in with the terrible politics and awful school system was able to produce the most legendary sniper in US history.
I met Chris Kyle once. When I met him, I didnt know who he was – I’m not that person who follows military history. Chris Kyle was mowing my daughter’s crash site. I stumbled on him one day. I knew someone was doing it, but not sure who. I drove past one afternoon and he was there mowing. I pulled over to thank him and he told me he was Chris Kyle. He lived in the neighborhood she was killed in front of. He knew the kids like to gather there, so he kept it clean for them.
He was incredibly kind. Very uncomfortable with me and he didnt want my thank you.
When he died, I saw him on TV and connected everything. The man he died with was the husband of Kindle’s dyslexia teacher for three years in Junior High. Apparently Chris Kyle grew up in my neighborhood.
His movie is out or coming out soon. I just feel like this is a way I can give back to him. Sounds dumb – I know, but you get it – I hope.
