Today I am so happy to introduce our guest at Love Bytes, former owner of the blog of Sid Love , author Sid Love!
Sid is here to talk to us about his new release Let it Go and he is also offering an AWESOME Giveaway 🙂
Welcome Sid 🙂
Okay, it’s high time I talk about the elephant in the room.
My newest release Let it Go tells the story of a gay man from India – Virat – who finds true love in a foreign tourist – Damon – at Goa. However, the difficult situation that keeps them apart in this story is that Virat isn’t just vacationing in Goa, but he is actually on a honeymoon.
With his new wife.
Everyone who reads that blurb may assume Virat would be a cheating bastard and have, thus, moved on from this book. But, I am here to tell you that Virat being married isn’t the problem here at all. It’s the society that we live in and have lived in for years! While many countries around the world have accepted the fact that there is an LGBTQ community and they should have the right to live as they are, India is still at that stage where everyone conveniently ignores such a topic. I have known so many people personally who are even oblivious of what the word ‘gay’or ‘lesbian’ means and that is very sad.
In an Indian society, when a man has succeeded in his life and has settled well enough to provide for a family, everyone is eager to get him hitched with a nice girl. Even someone who you’d hardly know would begin suggesting girls that they know who would be perfect for you. How nice!
Many gay men have succumbed to the peer pressure and have finally gotten married to women, while they carry on their ‘secret’ gay life behind their backs. And I say this – they aren’t fully to be blamed for. An effeminate man becomes a laughing stock of the society; a man who hasn’t gotten married till the age of thirty becomes a hot topic to be discussed during family gatherings or friendly meet-ups. And suddenly, the parents are accused of not wanting the best for their kids. The mother and the father find themselves pointed at wherever they go. Personally, I do not understand this at all.
My point of this whole debate is that what Virat has gone through is quite real in the setting I have placed him in. And I would have never allowed myself to show it any other way. Cheating is not something I, as a person, would even encourage or support. To be honest, I am disgusted when I come across a married guy here in India who is looking to have some ‘fun’ while his wife is away. I pity the woman who has decided to spend her life with such a man. Seriously. However, Virat is nothing like such men. I can tell you that.
I have had readers – for whom the topic of cheating is hard to handle – praise my work. Here’s what a reviewer said recently: “This was a story that normally I would have passed up from the description- I really dislike people in committed relationships cheating and the idea that the cheater’s new love would be the romance would be repellent. But that’s not this story, and to go on such an assumption would have made me very, very wrong.”
So, if you are simply holding back on this book because you think you may not like the outcome, consider it again. Give this book a chance is all I am saying. 🙂

Goa isn’t supposed to be one of the stops Damon O’Neil was taking while in India. It becomes a mere substitution to his big plans of
visiting his sister in Paris for holidays. Because his boss, Mr. Boyles, ruins it all for him. He arranges an urgent visit for Damon to tend to all the system upgrades they needed for the company’s offshore units and Damon is too good to say no.
When a situation arises in a restaurant, a handsome Indian guy named Virat comes to his rescue. Damon is instantly smitten with his looks and
especially, with his cute smile. Soon, he realizes that Virat is very much out of his league when the guy introduces him to his new wife.
However, there might just be a chance that Virat isn’t all what he pretends to be …

SID LOVE grew up in one of busiest cities in the world, Mumbai, listening to the excerpts of Indian epics from his father every night. While it served as an inspiration back in time, he has always had an ambitious mind. In 2007, when he had just turned sixteen, he decided that he would make his lifelong dream come true—to become a well-known, respected author someday.
Ask him and he would refuse to accept that he is obsessed with books. Or movies. Or TV shows. Addicted may even be the right word. He is a die-hard fan of Jane Austen’s romance novels and loves to reread them time and again.

I enjoyed the post about Indian society it must be very difficult to live as a gay man/woman in Indian and in many other countries where the same society rules apply.

I enjoyed the post and I love the title and cover for this book.
I love the cover for this book! Great post.
Thanks for the interesting post. Society and family expectations even peer pressure can be difficult to be different.
I can’t even imagine how hard it would be to be in his situation. Very intriguing concept for a book!
I am fascinated by India and I am intrigued to know how this story pans out, especially with the relationships of the MC’s. Western society also puts pressure on you to follow the norm, by get married and if you do get married then they ask when will they be children, as your not getting any younger! .
Thank you for the giveaway 🙂
If Virat looks anything like the guy on the cover no wonder Damon is instantly smitten! Love it! Congratulations, Sid, and much success to you!
