SERIES REVIEW: Bad Boys Need Love Too
AUTHOR: Christa Tomlinson
BOOK ONE TITLE: Bad Boys Need Love Too
PUBLISHER: Torlina Publishing
LENGTH: 440 pages
BLURB:
“You won’t let anybody else have you, Joseph. I won’t let anybody else have you. I want you all to myself.” – Gage Mason
We’ve all had our experience with him. The Bad Boy. The one we’ve been warned about. The one with rips in his jeans and a lazy, devil may care smile on his mouth. The one who makes you do bad things that feel so good.
For me it was Gage Mason. We met when he worked on my Ducati. I knew immediately he was trouble, but something about that Bad Boy drew me in. Maybe it’s his dark eyes that study me like he wants to know everything about me. Maybe it’s the way he makes me feel; the rough touch of his hands, his possessive grip on my hair when we kiss, the way he feels deep inside me. Or maybe it’s the way he needs me, even though he won’t admit it.
For once in my life I’m taking a risk. Despite everything that tells me I shouldn’t, I’m taking a chance to be with Gage. I don’t know if it will end well, but I do know I can’t resist that Bad Boy.

REVIEW:
Bad boys DO need love too and this book was the perfect way to prove that point, BUT why did it have to be SOOOOOOOO long?!?!?!? If this story would have stopped at about 50-60% it would have had a logical, satisfying HFN ending especially since there are two more stories in the series that take place with the same group of friends just with different couples. With that being said, DAMN I really enjoyed the majority of this story!!! I LOVED a good 60%, liked a good 10-15% and felt a good 30% was unnecessary but that is still without a doubt a solid 4 star book, in my opinion.
On the surface, Joseph and Gage are about as opposite as two people can be. Joseph is a corporate lawyer who plans on making partner in his law firm. But on his down time he loves to ride his Ducati and races for pleasure. After having some engine trouble with his motorcycle someone recommends Gage’s motorcycle shop to him.
Gage is a bad boy. His owns his own bike shop and does what he wants when he wants to do it. He loves sex, with just about anyone, he does not discriminate, gender wise. When he sees Joseph pull in for the first time, the chemistry between them explodes on the pages.
They enter into a sexual relationship that was mind blazingly HOT.
The sexual tension between these two is a thing of pure beauty. I truly enjoyed all of their sexual interactions. Is there a lot of sex in this story? YES, there’s a crap ton of sex!!! But I was not one bit bored with the sex scenes between these two. I’ve read tons of stories where there is no plot, and too much sex. Those stories always lose me. But this had a great in depth plot, characters you really care about then add in the electric chemistry between these two AND the deliciously hot sex, it was a WIN, for sure.
The biggest issue was whether or not Gage wanted to commit to Joseph because Joseph was all in basically from the get go. Then as the story progressed other smaller issues started to arise. Considering this was a 400+ page book there was a lot of resolution with tons of issues throughout the story.
Also, the author had a great opportunity to work out a lot of sub characters that we will see throughout the series. She was able to wet my appetite and really make me want to read the rest of the series. I definitely recommend this book but keep in mind it is rather long but the way this author got me to care about Joseph and Gage really made up for it.
Now I’m off to read about Nate….

BOOK TWO TITLE: Bad Boys Need Love Too: Nate
PUBLISHER: Torlina Publishing
LENGTH: 120 pages
BLURB:
We’ve all had our experiences with him. The Bad Boy. The one we admire from a distance, but never think of approaching. The one with the hard body, and perfect stubble, who’s too handsome for his own good.
For me it was Nate McKinney. We met when I joined his gym. He expressed an interest in me, but I didn’t believe it. What would a man like him want with a nerd like me? Nate had to do a little persuading to convince me his attraction was real. He showed me how deep and hot his passion ran for me. Sometimes he was gentle. Sometimes he was rough. And I enjoyed it all.
But can I trust what he says? All signs indicate he’s using me for what I can do for his company. I can’t fall for a man like that. I can resist him. Right?

REVIEW:
This series is so incredibly enjoyable so far. Thankfully this wasn’t as long as the first book and she was still able to convey who Nate and Kevin were while building their relationship. Even though the first book is set during the same time as this on there was very little repeated information which I was happy about.
Unlike Joseph and Gage, Nate and Kevin were a lot less explosive in their attraction for each other. Really, everything was a bit less but that doesn’t take away from the sweetness of them being together.
Nate is the owner of Nate’s Gym, a very successful business that has branched out in several different locations and now he’s looking at expanding to different cities. He’s very bored with his love life and utterly fed up with gym bunnies. He’s wants something different, someone different.
Kevin is an out and proud “nerd.” He recently got a massive tattoo of his favorite Xmen hero’s and now he wants his body in shape so that he can show it off. His tattoo artist Max, suggest he go to Nate’s Gym since in his opinion they are the best and he also happens to be one of Nate’s best friends.
When Nate sees Kevin for the first time there is an immediate attraction. He loves his creamy tan skin and his “silky” looking dreds. He wants to get to know him so he offers his personal training services, free of charge. Kevin takes him up on the offer.
It takes awhile for them to come together and unbeknownst to Nate, Kevin is a virgin. But when they both get on the same page it is very sweet to see their relationship evolve.
Kevin has a little bit of baggage that he is trying to put behind him but Kevin is very patient with him.
This was overall a very sweet and sometimes hot little story. I honestly never connected with Kevin but I really liked Nate.
This was a very quick read but overall pretty enjoyable! A good addition to the series and I loved seeing Gage and Joseph through another’s eyes!!

BOOK THREE TITLE: Bad Boys Need Love Too: Max
PUBLISHER: Torlina Publishing
LENGTH: 120 pages
BLURB:
We’ve all had our experiences with him. The Bad Boy. The one we know better than to get involved with. The strong, quiet type with a voice as smooth and cool as chocolate whiskey ice cream.
For me it was Max Stovall. We met, when at forty-two years old, I decided to get my first tattoo. He didn’t say much, but he didn’t have to. I was immediately attracted to him. I knew he was attracted to me too, even though he played it cool and pretended otherwise.
Getting close to him won’t be easy. He’s in the closet and determined to stay there. Do I walk away, or show him life is better out here, with me?
Dr. Patrick Bishop
REVIEW:
I really don’t even know where to start with this story. This was the third and final book in the Bad Boys Need Love Too series and it was just plain, blah. I don’t know where all the heat, passion, chemistry, spark, and mystery went from the first 2 books. It’s unfortunate because I was really looking forward to Max’s story. In the first two books this author had me so curious about Max. She totally wetted my appetite but now all I feel is let down.
Max is the owner of Bayou City Ink tattoo parlor. He’s a very much closeted African American man. He has a lot of issues and baggage that he is trying to work through. His mom abandoned him at birth without ever telling her family she was pregnant. He was reunited with them after having spent all his childhood and adolescent in foster homes. He sees being gay as something his biological grandmother and mother couldn’t handle so he hides it. He’s very quiet and shy but driven to succeed.
Dr. Patrick Bishop is an out and proud 42 years old. Having spent a lot of time in the closet and being married to a woman he now lives his life free and in the open. He has a daughter who he accompanies to a tattoo expo. His daughter happens to be dating one of Max’s employees.
When Max and Patrick meet I honestly felt NOTHING. Max is so closed off. He’s like a ghost, there but not there so it’s so hard to tell anything. Patrick I liked a little more but he too was hard to read so being able to feel and watch the attraction grow was difficult for me.
What ensues is a very secret relationship they set out upon. Patrick happily goes back in the closet to be with Max. I didn’t really understand that decision since he spent so much time in the closet when he was married.
Anyway Max struggles with his desires for Patrick. He wants him but he doesn’t want to be “gay” in the public eye. For me his inner battle was tiresome.
I did enjoy when he came out to Nate and Gage. Of course they accepted him but it was really nice seeing the 3 interact.
This was just ok for me. Kind of a disappointing end to a series I really enjoyed up until this point.
