He has found his true mate.
Orphaned at an early age, Casey Newton has bounced from foster home to foster home, never quite finding a place to call his own. When a big, burly man decides Casey is his true mate, the cold and lonely world Casey grew up in begins to change. For once in his life, someone wants him.
But wanting someone and keeping them safe are two very different things. When the man that has terrorized Casey for most of his life comes after him again, can Casey trust Rob to protect him or will he be tossed away like he has every other time in his life? And will the bond between mates be strong enough to withstand the threat of losing everything they hold dear?
REVIEW:
This is he first book in what I am sure is to be another series. The book was pretty good, the characters are nice. The only issue I had with the book was the cover. I understand that Siren employs their own cover artists but doesn’t the author not have the final say in the finished product? If not, then they should. The man on the cover looked like a pre pubescent boy. I understand Casey was supposed to be a twink but I think the artist took it a bit too far.
That aside, the contents of the book were really good. Casey is a sweet and hardworking young man whose bullied by the town’s future alpha. This so called future alpha needs his alpha card taken. He gets his ass handed to him a couple times in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I dig it; the guy deserves it for being a dang bully. But I felt that Rob definitely could’ve have challenged the current alpha and won.
Rob has a great family and group of friends who stuck by him. I like Casey and Rob together. Poor Casey never had a break in life and when he meets Rob, he not only gained a loving family but a strong mate and protector.
As with all of Glenn’s books, the storyline was fast paced but that’s what I like about her books. They’re quick, interesting reads and the pace prevents you from being bored.
The ending was really nice and makes me think that this book is a prequel to another one of her good series. Definitely worth getting in to.
