Well…it’s been an interesting year. I guess everyone does a bit of reflecting as the end of the year rapidly approaches. Isn’t it just human nature? We look back at the things we did, accomplished, failed at, and ponder the recent past.
My past year has been incredible, to say the least. I started the year off with a bestselling book, something I’d never have been able to predict. I moved to Florida in the dead of winter. Lived out of a suitcase, and that was all in the month of January!
I was able to take a trip of a lifetime. Never in my wildest imagination would I have dreamed of going to Paris, France at my age. It had been a dream of mine that I had all but given up on. Although I was only able to spend one short week there, it was a week that I will remember for the rest of my life. The month that I spent abroad was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.
I was also able to spend time in the UK with my bestie and her husband. I saw things, experienced things that I had never even thought about doing. I was able to meet people that influenced me, changed me and made me a better person.
Then I had this new rookie writer stalking me all through the UK and France. Little did I know that he wasn’t going to give up and that he had ulterior motives. It seems his younger brother put him up to the whole thing. Well, now to start my new year off, he’s moving here. Something else I would never have been able to predict.
Now, the year wasn’t without its negatives. They were hard, hurtful, destructive and also life changing. No sense in going on about it. It is all history now. However, I have learned a lot and now can plan my coming year around some of those negatives.
Life is constantly changing and evolving like we are. You either learn to go with it or you get left behind. It’s an adventure. Take advantage of it. Never forget to grab the hand of those reaching out to you. Bring them along. A hand up is never a hand out.
