Bells and Balls, the fourth in the With A Kick series is due out on 22nd of December. Because of family issues Lou Harper produced the cover for me before a word of the book was written.
Her first question – what is the title for your book, Sue?
Um…
**crickets**
What the heck do I call my book, especially before I write it? My head went totally blank.
I have to say that if it wasn’t for my series writing partner, Clare London, I would still be wondering now. She is the most amazing woman for coming up with titles. Just look at hers – A Twist and Two Balls, and Slap and Tickle. Funny, very British and with a naughty twist. I also have to say very Clare!
My book, Hissed as a Newt was easy. There is a Brit phrase, ‘pissed as a newt’ meaning drunk. I didn’t want to curse but replacing one letter and all is good.
Clare asked what was the theme of the book?
I had to think really quickly. Alcoholic ice-cream, Christmas and rugby. I do have a passion for rugby players. Particularly the ones that strip off for charity.
My initial title idea and I’m still very fond of it was Jingle my Bell. But that’s been used before and in MM.
But these were Clare’s ideas.
- Rum and Tackle.
- Snow Time for It
- Sleighed
- Bells and Balls
- Try and Tackle
- Festive Flanker
- Foul play
- Kick into Touch
- Up and Under
- Christmas Cracker
- Ho Ho Hooker Holly and Hooker
- Santa’s Scrum
I think we could have a whole series just from these titles. Anyway, Bells and Balls it is, plus as she helped with the recipe of the ice cream, Mick became a ginger. I never have a problem with that. You might know I have a passion for red-heads.
What do you mean I ought to get around to writing the book…?

Sue’s bio:
Sue Brown is owned by her dog and two children. When she isn’t following their orders, she can be found plotting at her laptop. In fact she hides so she can plot and has got expert at ignoring the orders. Sue discovered M/M erotica at the time she woke up to find two men kissing on her favorite television series. The series was boring; the kissing was not. She may be late to the party, but she’s made up for it since, writing fan fiction until she was brave enough to venture out into the world of original fiction.
