As luck would have it, Steve was standing at the lockers so Andrew didn’t have to shout out or go searching for his friend. Steve looked up and grinned when he saw Andrew.
It was a nice welcome to say the least. Even better when in nothing but a towel Steve grabbed him into a hug. After nine years in the city, where you were considered overly friendly if you said ‘good morning’ to someone, it shocked Andrew to receive all these hugs. Especially when it was his brother-in-law-to-be who was still damp from the shower and had a relatively small towel around his waist.
Desperately trying to stop his body taking notice, he pictured smelly old gym socks. “Uhm. You do remember I’m gay, right? And you’re almost naked.”
Laughing, Steve let him go, slapping him on the back. That was definitely a straight guy thing. “Come on, man. I know you’re not going to jump me or anything.”
Andrew was glad one of them was so sure about that.
“Let me just get dressed then we’ll head for some lunch in the break room.” Steve whipped off his towel with a wicked grin.
Oh, dear God. Now Steve really was naked. If Sara ever got wind of this then he would never ever hear the end of it.
He swore his neck was going to have a permanent crick in it when he quickly looked away before his gaze dropped somewhere it shouldn’t. Laughter was Steve’s only response. Andrew flipped his friend off.
