BLURB:
Reed and Taz are still adjusting to their new lives together when a medical emergency sends them flying down to Florida on short notice. Not quite the way Reed pictured introducing Taz to his family. Reed’s sister, Rene, welcomes the outgoing Taz with open arms, and the kittenish alien charms Reed’s parents. But someone isn’t quite so enamored of Reed’s boyfriend—his homophobic older brother Jacob seems determined to be as unpleasant as possible, and he’s making their visit very uncomfortable. The sudden appearance of Reed’s controlling ex releases a flood of insecurity and bad memories. Reed begins to doubt himself, and his ability to love and be loved in return. When strange items begin appearing as if out of nowhere, he wonders if he’s being stalked, or is he just paranoid? What can Taz do to prove to Reed that he’s more than enough man for this alien?
REVIEW:
In the sequel to Be My Alien, we meet up again with Reed and his sexy alien love Taz. Taz is an alien who resembles a calico cat. He has beautiful stripes that show up when he experiences high emotion such as arousal, long calico striped hair and a tail. He was stranded on top of the Empire state building after coming to earth for a date gone bad. He meets Reed an owner of an upscale men’s boutique that has naughty secrets in the back room. It was love at first fall. In this second book, Reed and Taz have been living together for a month going through what most would call the honeymoon phase as they seem to be sexing it up every chance he gets. The men are out one night trying to cheer up Reed’s coworker Peter, when Reed gets a phone call that his father has suffered a heart attack and that he had to head home to Florida. He has Taz accompany him even though he is afraid of Taz’s true nature being discovered. In Florida awaits a homophobic brother, a darling but crazy sister, a lovable mother and strong father, and horrible ex boyfriend Reedthought he had long left behind. Reed begins a journey of self discovery and also tests the bond of his relationship with Taz.
This was an incredibly delightful and touching book. The first book was too short and I was pleased to see this would not be the case again. You cannot help but love Taz. He is adorable as he discovers earth is a lot different than his home world on Tygros. The loyalty, protectiveness, and love he has for Reed is beautiful to behold. Taz shows he is much more than fluffiness, and his claws are not just for decoration. As they both deal with the appearance of the ex, and the bad emotions he brings back for Reed, Taz proves himself to be strength that Reed needs. We see Reed grow from that love, and overcome the obstacles that pop up unexpectedly. He becomes more self assured and learns to rely on his “kitten” much more. There are a lot of sexy moments as Taz is pretty much insatiable. Whenever his tail popped out I couldn’t help but giggle as I imagined the scene. I would definitely recommend this series. I do not think it should be read as a standalone since it is important that you know how the two main characters met each other. It is an easy read, which will definitely make you go awww a lot and want to cuddle up with someone or maybe a cute kitty of your own.
